Ste
Hi I've seemed to of lost 15mb off my connection since the firmware update, I've only just noticed now. I'm connecting via R1 to Modem, as I don't have another router I want to use. As last time I sent it up via a secondary router, I just ran into issues. But I've tested the connection with a friends router and I get the full speed, but not with the Netduma. Is there any fix for this ?
Zennon
Reset the device priority and update this will fix the issue.
Ste
done that 3 or 4 times, makes no difference. Edit: ok so done it again and its given me 10mb back, still missing 5.
Zennon
Is share excess ticked? if not please re tick it. Also untick deep packet inspection in misc and ipv6 in wan and lan.
Ste
will that effect any thing else ? Share excess is always ticked,
Netduma Staff Netduma Crossy Posted December 24, 2015 Netduma Staff Share Posted December 24, 2015 will that effect any thing else ? It shouldn't do unless your ISP gives you an IPv6 address or devices on your Network are connected using IPv6. Which algorithm are you using? Are bandwidth caps set to 100%? How much do you expect to get and how much are you getting?
fuzzy clam
Have you checked your actual speeds, not what your ISP says you get but an actual speedtest of your speeds ? And did you put that in your bandwidth settings ? And as Crossy asked which algorithm are you using ? I lose about 10-12 mb when I run pre as it is a more conservative algorithm as opposed to reactive where I get my full speeds.
Ste
Yes, I know what the speeds, from actual speed tests in the past. Yes, its in my bandwidth settings. Bandwidth are set to 100% at the moment. Doesn't matter which algorithm, Reactive I loose more bandwidth.

Bandwidth are set to 100% at the moment. Doesn't matter which algorithm, Reactive I loose more bandwidth. My speeds should be 45mb down and 15mb up. Since the update I'm geting 27mb down and 10mb up. I change to reactive it drops to 12mb down and 10mb up. I've changed all the settings above and I'm still recording the same speeds. I reset the distribution and it moved to 32mb down, but after a while dropped back down to 25/27. I was running at full speed before the update. fuzzy clam
Do you have the prioritization flower set to give more band width to any device ? Have you tried resetting the distribution on the flower and then running the speediest again, with slides at 100 percent ?
Ste
If I do a BT wholesale test. I get the following. Which would mean the connection is working fine............ But If I do a speed net test it saying 22mb. Every thing is set to 100%. Though My pc is playing up and I'm getting different results on different browsers............. I'll keep looking into it. Netduma Staff Netduma Crossy Posted December 24, 2015 Netduma Staff Share Posted December 24, 2015 Try testing with a different server on the speed test website
Administrators Netduma Iain Posted December 25, 2015 Administrators Share Posted December 25, 2015 The Netduma can handle up to 800mbits have you tried this: http://wiki.netduma.com/doku.php?id=fine_tune_netduma Also do you have pppoe?
Ste
yes done that Iain. Getting via PPPOE ?
Administrators Netduma Iain Posted December 26, 2015 Administrators Share Posted December 26, 2015 If you are using PPPoE in "Settings > WAN" then you will be speed limited. If so just plug in the original router and put the Netduma behind it without PPPoE.
Ste
Why? I was getting full speeds before the update using this method. Like I said in my original post I don't have an ISP router. So the newer update has some thing limiting this method in the software ?
Administrators Netduma Iain Posted December 26, 2015 Administrators Share Posted December 26, 2015 Pppoe has always been slow. If it was full speed before then either 1) it's variance bandwidth speeds change all the time and 5mbits at that speed is within the margin of error 2) some people are seeing a bug with device prio in new firmware please reset it and try again And of course don't forget when doing speed tests set ant-flood to 100% both ways
Ste
1) I'll dig an old TP link router out that have in cupboard tomorrow and see what happens with that. 2) yeah done that a few times. 3) Already doing that.
