RiotControll reacted to Chaiyoabc in No Longer Caught in the Rabbit Hole – My Best Settings for FPS Games
Hey Netduma fellows,
Hope you’re all having a great day! I wanted to share the best settings I’ve found for improving my online gaming experience. Now, I’m not sure if the Netduma team will be happy about this because, honestly, none of these settings are related to the Netduma router.
I’ve been using Netduma routers for over five years, starting with the R1 model. Sometimes, they performed great; other times, not so much. Over time, I began to question whether using QoS alone was the best approach—until I was introduced to SQM (Smart Queue Management).
Some of you might already be familiar with SQM, CAKE, and FQ_CoDel, but let me tell you—SQM is an absolute game-changer when running on high-performance router hardware with OpenWRT.
My Solution for Consistent Performance
The key to getting good, consistent results (which has helped me maintain a 3+ K/D ratio in every FPS game) was:
1. Using a high-performance router that supports OpenWRT
2. Enabling CAKE as the QoS algorithm
Since CAKE requires significant CPU power, I chose the Flint 2 router, which can efficiently shape over 500 Mbps of traffic while running CAKE.
The Best Part? Set It and Forget It
The only tuning required is adjusting overhead and MPU (Minimum Packet Unit) settings. Other than that, once set up, it just works.
That’s all I wanted to share. Hope this helps someone out there struggling with network consistency!

RiotControll got a reaction from mikestro1 in DumaOS 4.0 - "Never Coming To The XR Series" - I PAID FOR DumaOS! SO I GET LAST YEARS UPDATES!
Why did you buy the XR1000 when you already knew that this was a dead partnership? I think Netgear imagined the partnership differently than how it turned out, and they are now simply sitting out the remaining contract period.

RiotControll got a reaction from Spazz in Tick rate always the same
What you're talking about? Since WWII the 6v6 game modes have 60hz servers. Only the 10v10 and above game modes have a tickrate of 20-30hz and the BR. game modes have a tick rate of 20-27hz.

RiotControll reacted to KinGzzy in CALL OF DUTY IS MANIPULATING YOU
Last message I post on the forum because I more have time..Call of duty in general does not work that way yes the SBMM but no if with a PC you can have a better gaming experience in terms of Latency/jitter "everyone would know", know what you are referring to it is quite simply INPUT LAG not to be confused with LATENCY/RTT I play on PC in 2k with around 100 fps on average and I played in 240hz the difference is minimal. Just know that to play optimally in Warzone 2 a simple router is enough... Good continuation to all...
Sorry for my english i'm so tired.

Infinity Ward already admitted that they have servers problems and they're looking into it.

Because they have a better (optimized) routing than your ISP.
