digital_steve reacted to Netduma Fraser in Help with putting R3 on my network
Port forward ports 1-65535 source & destination, TCP & UDP to the R3, that will act essentially as a DMZ function

I'm noticing the same. No matter what SmartBOOST setting variation I use -- if someone is downloading a big file, like a steam download or console game update, etc -- my in-game ping (Rocket League via desktop/steam for example) will make the game unplayable. Even browsing/streaming can get really bad. How can I make it so large downloads/updates doesn't hog too much bandwidth? I have tried the Ping Optimizer, and while it says it's made big improvements -- in effect it doesn't seem to make any difference. Also I noticed when I'm playing in-game on Rocket League it doesn't show up on Network Activity under gaming.

In theory it shouldn't matter but as we've all seen gaming networking seems to be a different breed. QoS is traffic management so in theory if there isn't much traffic at the time to be managed that could be why

digital_steve got a reaction from Netduma Fraser in Why does the ping optimiser stop?
I’ll run some games on cod and Fortnite today with steady ping disabled and see how it goes.

Have patience!!! Why would you want a rushed firmware thats not ready? You guys are complaining, you think rushing them is going to make your gaming experience better?
Yes it has a couple hiccups but all pc components / consoles and software do too, why they are always updating firmware, software, and drivers... have patience

That's brilliant to hear, thanks for the kind words! This is a great reminder that people do love the product, being on a support forum it's easy to forget that aspect when all you'll see here are people with issues.
