Juju31 reacted to Chaiyoabc in No Longer Caught in the Rabbit Hole – My Best Settings for FPS Games
Hey Netduma fellows,
Hope you’re all having a great day! I wanted to share the best settings I’ve found for improving my online gaming experience. Now, I’m not sure if the Netduma team will be happy about this because, honestly, none of these settings are related to the Netduma router.
I’ve been using Netduma routers for over five years, starting with the R1 model. Sometimes, they performed great; other times, not so much. Over time, I began to question whether using QoS alone was the best approach—until I was introduced to SQM (Smart Queue Management).
Some of you might already be familiar with SQM, CAKE, and FQ_CoDel, but let me tell you—SQM is an absolute game-changer when running on high-performance router hardware with OpenWRT.
My Solution for Consistent Performance
The key to getting good, consistent results (which has helped me maintain a 3+ K/D ratio in every FPS game) was:
1. Using a high-performance router that supports OpenWRT
2. Enabling CAKE as the QoS algorithm
Since CAKE requires significant CPU power, I chose the Flint 2 router, which can efficiently shape over 500 Mbps of traffic while running CAKE.
The Best Part? Set It and Forget It
The only tuning required is adjusting overhead and MPU (Minimum Packet Unit) settings. Other than that, once set up, it just works.
That’s all I wanted to share. Hope this helps someone out there struggling with network consistency!

Juju31 reacted to Netduma Fraser in Need Help With Network Performance Issue (Video Included)
There doesn't appear to be anything wrong with the ping, in this scenario I think it'd be best to block the server and try to force another that may play better

Juju31 reacted to Burtchnasty in Desync / Extrapolation issue
I don’t know if they are actually manipulating the game in real time, or if the match making system just starts putting together some really bad lobbies (connection wise). Because we can’t see players pings in BO6, it makes it even more difficult to try and figure out what’s going on.
No other game that I play has desync/extrapolation issues like this game does. It’s wild

Don't you think Activision is manipulating all this? Like eomm skill base damage

Merci pour ta réponse
J'ai testé Smarboost off c'était HORRIBLE ! 😅

That's correct Congestion Control will be disabled prior to SmartBOOST being disabled. Presumably they set it before disabling it but then it wouldn't take affect anyway.

Juju31 reacted to Tony in How are we feeling about BO6 Hit detection?
@De4d SaVi0r Ça va très bien merci 😎 !

Qos is really only good if your internet suffers from bad traffic example if you have loads of other devices using the internet at the same time Enabling Qos actually makes games worse .. Its been proven this .. What your are doing using qos is limiting your speeds you actally get to lower speeds you want full speeds while gaming ... The thing to keep in mind is QOS is of very limited value when you only control one end. So you can prioritize packets going outbound, but only as far as the next hop (ISP). Inbound not much you can do. Prioritizing within your LAN is feasible but I don't believe Asus QOS does anything with that, you'd need a switch with QOS features.
QOS can do more harm than good too, all it is doing is putting pseudo limitations on the connection, making some devices think there is saturation and others think it is all good. This really only works for TCP traffic, UDP not so much.
The QOS process also adds a bit of latency to process the packets.
If the latency is beyond the router, QOS will do more harm than good (even if it isn't, that's usually the case, it is only needed if you are saturating the connection with other things, like running a large file upload while gaming. If the link is not saturated, QOS will only hurt, not help). It isn't like it is going to accelerate packets beyond the speed of light or anything.

Juju31 reacted to Moofda in Best server for bot lobbies (less sbmm)
Honestly the geo-filtering is your best tool for potentially getting better games. It naturally adds an extra layer against a bigger pool of sbmm. You can see the difference on where the matchmaking takes you vs it on and off. The steady ping feature at least in my findings, works great for hit detection, especially in servers you have the least amount of ping to.

Juju31 reacted to Hmz in Latence élevé en game

Juju31 reacted to Hmz in Latence élevé en game

Juju31 got a reaction from Netduma Fraser in NEW R3 FIRMWARE - DumaOS 4.0.290

It really depends on why you're experiencing them but if you're not having any problems on the firmware you're on then don't fix it

Juju31 reacted to Netduma Fraser in Black Ops 6 - Smartboost
Thanks for the reports, we'll be testing the game and will put out a cloud update where necessary. If it's not detecting properly prioritize your device specifically for the moment or use the Call of Duty Content option in the File Sharing folder and it should work.
