bcoe30 reacted to Terpinator710 in having to reboot daily..
Alright. Well hopefully it’s out by Friday.. or I’m truly tossing this thing in the trash and accepting it as a horrible investment. 🤝
if this new firmware doesn’t fix things after months and months of issues.. That’ll be very unfortunate.
thanks

I had Comcast coax and went with ATT fibre in my area 1G/1G. Basically, I was paying more for less bandwidth. It was a win win in my case. I really wish ATT had a true modem mode though but they have IP passthrough. But I haven't had any issues with it.

@bcoe30
If you can find fiber then go fiber but if you only got coax then go with the fastest and most reasonable price...looking at that plan there's just trying to steal from you at that point 50mbs for fiber at 70 bucks they wilding?
To add it seems the fiber from AT&T 50/10 - it's actually VDSL so essentially it is what you call fake fiber you can dig a little deeper but I think that tell's you more than you need to know...just my opinion you can do your own research.

Stick with Spectrum. Also, your market have the increased upload compared to spectrum in my market. Highest is 40mbps.... you're getting 500mbps upload.
Wait until REAL fiber comes in town. But, it can be years or if ever at all.
By the way, AT&T fiber speeds STARTS at 300Mbps and up to 5000Gbps plans.

honestly, i want this router to work correctly. i went from my ISP modem/router, to a sperate modem and this router. costing me more and more money and time. now i cant get this router to preform like the other modem/router and i cant even get it to run my games as well as ethernet to modem. what is the deal? is this a scam? the router runs but doesn't work right. maybe for console its a good router but to manage a PC network it completely SUCKS. sorry to say, i was excited to try to out. i put tens of hours into making it better, still no luck. please make this right some how. thanks

It was a great one guys but I’m done.. I literally cnt enjoy this anymore, spend to much money on this router for it not to work how it supposed to. I have done everything I could on my end and the knowledge I have. I have reset multiple times, update multiple times. Change settings, disable settings. Literally have family over and it keep dropping, buffering , now can’t even open the web page once again. No I’m not click continue anyway or Retry.
wanted this to product to be great but the enjoyment and the my patience is all gone. I be back when everything is final fix correctly. Hopefully? But right now it’s going back into the box on a shelf.

Great. Any chance you can fix my random crashing.
I've had virgin for 10 years and its never crashed. I spend £180 on this router, ive had over 5 since feb, and it gives me slower speeds and higher ping to boot.
Regretting my descission to buy it tbh.
An easy fix would be a scheduled reboot, pretty basic feature its missing.

@Fuzyyes i bought a gaming router but there are others like asus that don't have so many problems i got this router because
they recommended it to me as the best but so far I don't see it I don't like to complain but I have been waiting for a long time without much results. It makes a difference for me when I have ipv6 enabled

That’s it done with netduma , awful cheap trash never worked how it should do. Nearly 7 months in can’t even stay connected to the internet. Scum of a company. Netduma Fraser you’ve been as helpful as you can be but you’re let down by the idiots above you. The whole things needs trading standards looking at it.

bcoe30 reacted to Klown in features not working....
Just curious, I purchased this router back in December, are the features like speed test/ping test/ping optimizer ever going to be fixed.
It has been almost six months since I received mine and the last firmware update posted was in January.

bcoe30 reacted to DARKNESS in R3 UPNP
It more or less a workaround didn't work for me but might for others still it a bug and one that shouldn't be there to begin with as it a basic function. I decided in the mean time to go back to my R2 till the next patch just as I have many users on the household that game and use that feature etc.

A piece of advice I will give to anyone reading these posts.
Do not invest your money in this unfinished product!
I have purchased many routers before, but this is the first one I have to be actively involved in a forum about features that were advertised and have not been delivered.
Save your money if you don't have enough to spare. These complaints are real and I honestly feel that nothing can be done to address them.

@Netduma FraserI appreciate your help as always, but let’s be honest here. The R3 was released with core router features that simply don’t work. It was released too early. That coupled with the slow firmware releases and lack of transparency on what’s being addressed by the development team compounds this situation. I’ve been a long standing Netduma customer for a long time and firmware updates on DumaOS have been problematic for years, across the board. At this point, I’ve given up and swapped the R3. Simply too much tinkering that I need to do with port forward, IPv6 with congestion control, Steady Ping not working with Warzone etc. Basically, I need to turn off all of the core R3 features, so I’m better off using my Asus router.

Ask yourself why you have needed to reply 3000 times? What has driven customers to have to resort to seek assistance from you due to issues caused by either poor comms/bad software testing or design?
You don't buy a car and have customers report the indicators don't work and the dealership says "oh you need to switch on your headlights to make your indicators work, until we can resolve the software issue"
You don't buy a game where A button doesn't make your character jump and as a workaround you need to remap the button to X.
Even now you are getting new issues raised by your paying customers that haven't been tested prior to release. These are basic issues.
I just think to help your customers, to be more forward and transparent with what is broken, what is being done to resolve the issue and also what is the temporary workaround
I love the idea of what Netduma is trying to achieve but this isn't the first time a lot of your customer base have tried your routers and it is your 3rd attempt at getting a R router released. Surely some lessons have been learnt from all the other previous instances that could have made this a better release?
I'll give you a live example. How was the issue of upnp and DMZ allowed to get through your quality checks before being released which then causes your customers with knock effects such as routers locking up and needing to be restarted? You know a lot of your customers would you use one or both of these so why weren't these tested and why was it down to your customer to highlight this simple, basic router function wasn't working?

Do you have a public trello board or something that the community can follow along in, to see what issues are on your radar, which are in progress of being fixed etc?
-
bcoe30 reacted to DanologyUK in 8700 posts since release 3 months ago! Yes, almost 9 thousand posts!
8700 posts in the space of 3 months to the R3 community since the router was released! That is a lot. Even I feel embarrassed for you.
Come on Netduma, do better, you shouldn't need this amount of posts for a successful launch so it clearly shows something went wrong with the launch? Was it launched too early?
Yes some people have duplicated posts but almost 9000 post in 3 months (average 100 posts a day can not be seen as successful!)
Time to own up to all of these issues that your paying customers are essentially beta testers for you which is not acceptable.
How about making a post to pin to the top of the forum with a hands up to accept there are issue, list the known issues and known "workarounds" and start making some changes to resolve some of these issues to your PAYING customers?
What do you say?

bcoe30 reacted to DARKNESS in dns
@bcoe30There is a bug I found so I'd say yes though you can try it and see if you get different results in my case it turns off the wan which cuts internet access and the only fix I found is resetting the router. However if your doing it for the first time it doesn't turn off the wan so you can technically add a dns server you just can't change it after it added.

bcoe30 reacted to BadBill_UK in So where’s the update then?
OMG! Your logic is lacking logic! why are you even mentioning enterprise environments for a primarily gaming home router! its completely out of context. You do know if there is bugs in the R3 firmware then certain connection configurations that somehow got missed during testing could occur. I am having ethernet disconnects on the LAN side but what if the bug affects the WAN side as well for others? if yours is stable why even comment! to put others down and call them stupid! I am not upset just hate arrogant people who assume because they have no issues everyone else must be at fault. Just because a problem isn't widespread or affects you doesn't mean it doesn't exist. All I can say congrats that yours is stable and connected. Good day sir
