cljackhammer got a reaction from CES in It's been almost two months since the last update. When can we expect fixes for issues, we are all struggling with?
Probably 2025. Netduma still hasn’t released a firmware. It’s almost been 3 months and nothing. It appears that they only have 1 developer on the team lol

The other issue is the lack of transparency. Netduma as a company really did a poor job on the launch of this product. To this day no one on the Netduma leadership team has acknowledged the issues. Fraser takes care of it on these forums. It’s as if in their mind this is Ok. The R3 video’s hype’s this product to a huge extent. The company spent more effort on the video’s then the product itself. The R2 launch was much more successful.

To answer your points, is the constant reboots to combat your ability to access/disconnects? If you provide the logs when you get a disconnect I can take a look at it, it may not be the issue others have mentioned. If your ping is quite stable i.e. it doesn't fluctuate much then you are then just raising your ping unnecessarily with Steady Ping on - I also think we need to do more to educate people on it as it is such a new feature. I think going forward we'll have that option disabled by default. A new firmware will be coming soon which should address the main pain points users have reported.

cljackhammer got a reaction from Gil in Issues with ping not staying within state
I would stick with your previous router. Most of the core R3 features work properly and you will end having to disable them meaning the R3 is no better than a XR1000. Other things not working is CC with IPV6, port forwarding with IPv6 on PS5 etc. Netduma has been promising a firmware for about 2 monthes, and we don’t know specifically what’s being addressed. All we know is that they are working on a firmware that is “supposed” to address these issues. Up to this point none of the issues have been addressed besides a cpu utilization problem.

Another week goes buy without a firmware update. The only issue that has been addressed was related to the CPU usage.

@Netduma FraserI appreciate your help as always, but let’s be honest here. The R3 was released with core router features that simply don’t work. It was released too early. That coupled with the slow firmware releases and lack of transparency on what’s being addressed by the development team compounds this situation. I’ve been a long standing Netduma customer for a long time and firmware updates on DumaOS have been problematic for years, across the board. At this point, I’ve given up and swapped the R3. Simply too much tinkering that I need to do with port forward, IPv6 with congestion control, Steady Ping not working with Warzone etc. Basically, I need to turn off all of the core R3 features, so I’m better off using my Asus router.

cljackhammer got a reaction from Alex49H in New firmware
Driftor clearly doesn’t understand SBMM. SBMM is an algorithm applied in the game itself. It isn’t a router function.
