Ivanbad got a reaction from Bruno in Optimal DumaOS Settings
Hi. No Armor. On phone so no pic.
    My isp is 1000/150.
I set my speeds based on setup wizard readings which almost always hits about 939/161.
I start with Always at 100%.  I follow the drop by 10% rule when trying bufferbloat.  As mentioned, after 2 slides i usually get rapp errors and bandwith is not being capped by QOS.
I have to toggle a few times to get it to re engage.
Another thing is when doing waveform i will notice my download will hold in the A+ target(5ms or lower) for almost the whole test, then spike last minute .
It takes several more resets before it works proper

You don't need to click on allow everytime you want to play, simply having the radius over servers will allow you to play on them. So what I mean but mean by forcing is changing the location on the map/radius to only allow connecting to servers in that radius. Sounds like you are/were being lag compensated then!

I would suggest the NAT set to Open option and leave DMZ disabled with UPnP enabled

Okay great, you don't need to worry about the DMZ then

I agree, I loved this gamepad... Unfortunately I broke the LT / LB trigger after an accidental drop from the desk (too hard plastic I think)! The pallets are perfect!

Hi Faser. That wasn't me.  It was the OP.
Anyway after a zillion tests, in my case anyway, using the routers setup wizard to check connection and speeds feels the best and gives me the highest values

The Xbox Edge app has been updated for a more reliable experience. Through the last few weeks of testing I found that testing with Waveform on Xbox has led to better in game results.

You'll probably want to put the XR WAN IP found on the System Information page into the Edge DMZ to avoid a double NAT scenario but other than that you should be good!

You should use the speeds you expect/receive doing a wired speedtest on speedtest.net, reason being Benchmark uses different servers and they don't always report closely to what you receive

Share Excess just applies to Download/Upload so only option is to enable fully or disable fully.
Congestion Control is network wide limitation, Bandwidth Allocation is allocating bandwidth to specific devices/applications.
You can but giving gaming/a console more bandwidth won't make it use more bandwidth for gaming. Gaming uses very little bandwidth so if you gave it 2 Mbps or 1000 Mbps it would still only use the same amount.

It's best to do tests from a wired PC if possible. Yes the values will be set for each device but it doesn't mean the Xbox will use 30Mbps for gaming, gaming uses less than 1Mbps in most cases. If you're doing the test over WiFi then yes the values may be slightly off but generally it will give a picture of your whole connection.

DumaOS is way more streamlined, easier to use, more robust and faster. Its easier to use while still having advanced options for those that like to tinker. QoS can be exclusively automatic if you would like it to be, automatically prioritising your consoles/games (using enterprise level deep packet inspection) and then applying Anti-Bufferbloat (Anti-Flood on R1) whenever this happens or giving full speed when not playing. The Dashboard provides a one stop customisable shop for your favourite features all sharing one screen where you can change settings on the fly without going to all the different features. More indepth Network Monitor, I could go on. Of course you have the Geo-Filter as well which I don't think I need to sell to you - it's the only feature of it's kind.

Also DumaOS is an actual OS so that means we can build new features & fix bugs - VERY fast. We have only just started, there is so much we plan on adding to DumaOS that it's actually crazy.

It isn't possible to use .255 for a device IP, that will be the same for any router as it is the broadcast address

That won't work, you'd need to adjust the range on DHCP then set a value outside that under 256

Ivanbad reacted to Netduma Fraser in Questions about speed.
We're still improving the results on those tests so if you get good speeds on speedtest.net then go with that. Your assigning bandwidth to gaming which pulls bandwidth away from the speedtest which isn't classed as gaming. Either way it's complete overkill as gaming won't use much more than 1Mbps!
