No it's on and off throughout a 10 plus minute match completely random. I'm sitting right beside the router and can see the lights change so I booted up the app and yeah it's completely random on and off. I've factory reset and everything

Smartboost doesn't keep gaming traffic prioritised just come on and off when it wants xdefiant

New firmware destroyed splitting the wifi bands 2.4 literally won't and can't connect to the Internet even though it's fully accessible on WiFi 5ghz and Etherley connect back to 2 and says no Internet connection available. How has it been a year nearly with unstable firmware.......back to the eero then 😴😴😴

Yeah mate I'm pretty much done with netduma I think it's a fan base firmware chasing fix for junkies lol. (I used to be one) but every and I mean every firmware update since the r3 launch and every other router they have launched has had untold issues. A company should release a firmware to fix something and every firmware has fixed nothing zero fixes..... claims that things have been fixed but nothing has actually happened. This constant firmware update chasing stuff is mind boggling. There should be a MASSIVE lawsuit for selling a device in such a state telling people they will fix it and then when nothing has been fixed in this time we should still be able to return this device.

Feels like it should hit detection is perfect never feel like my player is running in sand and don't have to change any settings. You have advance firewall and a new qos feature that works really good automatically don't have to adjust anything manually it just works..... You still get lag compensation which you truly can't get rid of even when you try and congest your line on the r3. The only good thing with cod and r3 is the ability to pick a location so you have a higher ping but in all honesty with the eero pro 6 the hit reg is so much better that you don't feel like you need to try anything it just works. I don't have a congested household so I can't vouch for that but I bet the eero pro 6 qos works better in a family house aswell

Everyone needs to stop wasting there time with this router gave this company a good couple of years with the xr500 and now this but after a year without a solid firmware and an absolute terrible bit of hardware it's clear this router will never be good enough. Everyone chasing these optimal settings need to give up and stop wasting your time. This router is terrible. I've done everything on I've done everything off. I've manipulated so much on this router to try and get it to perform but my god you will forever be behind on time you will always get out gunned it's a shocking bit of kit with fake firmware updates that keep people wanting more instead of actual fixes. It's a hype train for everyone to try and get an advantage that doesn't exist. Eero Pro 6 router no messing about no changing settings no terrible firmware updates that do nothing just a solid modern looking box with great WiFi range an insane throughput that can actually cope with 1gb Internet. This router without any messing beats this r3 router in every possible way. The r3 is a restriction on raw throughput

Is ipv6 fixed....does it work with upnp on or off? Does steady ping work with xdefiant? Does smartboost work correctly at all? Is there a way of capping my speed on console or is there only reservations?
-
Hello is there a firmware with vpn yet beta or not. Haven't followed the forums just been using the eero pro6 as the new firmwares was taking a long time. Thank you
-
Is this due to a factory reset after update and ipv6 would have been re enabled?

Hello I've used the xr500 and r3 both set up the same way with geo filter for uk servers only. On the xr500 I could always hear team mates talk even from another country like voice was bypassed on the xr500 geo filter.. On the r3 geo filter blocks anyone outside of the UK talking in game chat completely. Is there something you can implement back into geo like the xr500 had so comms are not hindered by the filter? Thank you

When your phone is connected without internet is your tv connected laptop connected any other wireless device connected???? Have you finally turned pppoe off and running dhcp?
-
Playstation nat type 2 is completely normal. The playstation will only allow port 3074. So make sure that is allowed on playstation and pc use 3075...IF you can be bothered to do that. Even then you will get a nat type 2 Your issue is clearly way outside of an open nat as even with a strict nat I can communicate with everyone. Check your in game nat never the playstation nat. Not being able to join party or private match could potentially be geo filter location if you have set it up
-
Ping optimiser still not working ?
-
Does this resolve any ipv6 issues to re enable it now?
-
I didn't think pppoe was needed when you have a modem. Dhcp should work as the Internet into the home is sorted by the modem and your r3 acts as a dhcp no?
-
If Tim's a router why you using pppoe? That's a very hard read

Does this update include vpn functionality? And could you send me the firmware tomorrow too please if its all working
-
Not to sound horrible or against what you have said but you answered your own question they stated updates last week and delayed it. So when you say "be greatful they are telling us when it's coming" the people that care are annoyed because its delayed that's all and when they stated it would be released it hasn't been

What is your broadband speed you get to your property? If its a gig line I would not use qos at all as I don't think qos is working well with high speeds. I can stabilise my line using speedtest set up using 500mb down 100mb up and then setting the sliders to like 60% this reduces the speed alot but definitely get stable line some software like dd wrt is also unable to run qos at high speeds maybe it's a similar issue

Worse Bufferbloat and various issues with R3
l2eactionz replied to canuckftc12W's topic in Netduma R3 Support
I hope so as I really do like your commitment always been updating firmwares and trying to push things. And as I always say for the geo filter alone its worth it. Hopefully see the vpn available soon aswell. But yeah with qos I definitely have to bring my speeds down to benefit from it. Otherwise the random fluctuations in speed at the top end must still be causing the bufferbloat -
Worse Bufferbloat and various issues with R3
l2eactionz replied to canuckftc12W's topic in Netduma R3 Support
Hey mate I also have a gig line and I'm pretty sure the throughput on the r3 isn't capable at all. If I set smartqos 70% both it's not enough. As with other software and routers some qos is capped and I believe this router will not be able to achieve qos with high speed broadband. I found the only way qos works and actually reduces bufferbloat without getting lag spikes is to set the speedtest speed manually to 300mb down and 100mb up. Then set the sliders accordingly and see what you get high speed qos on this router may never be possible who knows -
Just to be clear you will never get the max upload speeds via a ps5 speedtest as the servers are being used all the time. Send a message to a friend speedtest.net and then click the link to open speedtest and run a test that way
-
Is this .23 or will this firmware include vpn capability
-
Oh okay from my testing when I set my speed I instantly lose about 20mb even from speeds set so that's why I thought you shouldn't be getting 28mb with qos active as it instantly drops your speed lower than what is put on. For example I have 940mb if I set the speed to 940 and leave markers at 100 I get like 860 without even applying cc

Hello I have the same issue with ps5 speed tests and there seems to be a throughput issue. Disable ipv6 on wan and lan there are 2 biddable one then the other restart and make sure they are both off. Disable smartqos and restart again. Send a message to a friend speedtest.net this will enable you to click the link on ps5 and test to servers
