  1. I think you are right, about how toxic it has go on here, its a shame really most people just want to help, and give as much info as they can. BTW I like your 2Gig connection, I can only dream of such things, because when you live in the 3rd world of Cumbria in the UK, its just not happening, though its not your fault, and you have said stuff that I can/have used. It does seem that the problem I was having with COD servers, wasn't all down to Trayarch though, the hamster must have died in the exchange here, or something very similar.
  2. So right now, I don't know what firmware to run? can someone tell me what is the best version to run, because right now I don't have any faith in any of them, and I have switched to using the R2, though I have had some issues with that tonight, though that could just be COD servers. Everything just freezes (Like some is Lag switching), and players are rubberbanding all over the place. Any info on the right firmware to use would be good though.
  3. I suppose this could relate to the other routers, and it would be a good idea, though I would like to see it at least for the R3, given that the router is still finding its feet (not one of me best descriptions). Is there any patch (upgrade) notes for the new firmware, I know typically that the firmware is upgraded for an issue raised from the community. It would be really useful to be able to see why the new firmware was there without having to troll through loads of messages that may or may not be relevant to you.
  4. Yeah, I think it was just the placebo, and the hype of the new R3, Now I can say it does play the same with or without the host server ping.
  5. I couldn't agree more. I have bought so many routers from so many manufacturers (Asus and TPLink included), only ever tested them as an end user, no benchmarking or anything like that. Just using them and thinking that they may be better than what I was using before, though this was probably the placebo effect more than anything, and after a short time it wore off. Around the middle of last year, online gaming for me was at an all time low, and I really did believe that I was going to stop playing multiplayer PVP games, possibly even PVE games too, there seemed to be just agitation, and frustration. Always lowest K/D, ADS killed etc. I am retired and gaming is a big part of what I do in the incredible amount of free time I have, my friends and family told me you are getting on, slowing down is a part of that, you can't expect to beat the younger more agile gamers out there, you'll just have to accept it, you old so and so! Though it all changed for me when I got access to QOS 2.0 on the R2, and then the R3 came out, and revolutionised gaming for me, I really aren't exaggerating, its like I have a new skill set. Getting higher K/D and ADS kills than my much younger friends/family is not only pleasing for me, but its annoying them, and they think I am cheating, though we know better! I am sure steady ping is a massive part of what has aided the benefits I now reap, although I do not have enough current knowledge to comment technically, as I do have a background in telecommunications, and networking, I stopped being involved in IT networking and infrastructure in 2000, and it feels like a whole new science has grown up around it. I would still like to be involved, even if it is to say "This R3 is the Dogs doodahs.", which it is!
  6. I think I was generalising, though I do believe, there are other gaming routers out there, and there was/is (I don't want to get political) a coalition between Netduma and Nighthawk, and only these guys know where that is going. Also I don't believe the Netduma team think there are no competitors out there? I do stand by what I said in the context it was given, also I think this is very important; if there are other gamers out there that are still using other "gaming routers", that's a shame for them, and we should pass on our experience (I have told all my mates, family, general passersby, and anyone else who will listen), that the R3 is a must have for gamers. Then these guys will be able to further develop the R series and who knows where we will be in the coming years. Bring on the R27! Happy New year, and I hope it is really good for you all. P.s. I know the R27 is a missile!
  7. COD feels as if it is playing better when the router can ping the host, this may just be the placebo effect; though I do feel that not as many people are flying round the screen, like Billy Whizz.
  8. Please forgive what might sound like an obvious question. Should being able to ping the server always be something the router can do, and is stabilised the desired goal for the geofilter?
  9. Ah, no VLAN here, I'm all PPPOE, so no problem, Just thought I might have missed something.
  10. Is there a V4.0.20 I have only got V4.0.19?
  11. Oh just for completeness, it didn't matter what server it was connected to!
  12. I have t I have tested my theory about tabbed browser window, and however: Weird, silly, odd it sounds, I can actually make it do what was described all the time. Have a look at my findings:- So:- pic 1: I started a call of Duty MW3 game with the Geo filter page in a multi tabbed (Brave) widow, and. thats what happened, geo filter stopped working. and during the time the game was playing, I reloaded the page and it stayed exactly as you can see in the pic. Pic 2: I moved the Geo filter page to a window of its and refreshed, I done this just to demonstrate that it wouldn't reload and work. Pic 3: I started a new game of COD MW3, after reloading the page and not in a lobby, with the geo filter page in its own window, and thats what happened. every thing back to normal. I have done this more times than shown here, and every time the same thing happens. When geofilter is in a multi window it stops working (for me), the game still plays. though not as good as it does when the geofilter is working, hit detection is rubbish, and gameplay is nothing like when it is working as it should. I have done more than these tests, and every time I have had the same results. I hope this a) makes sense, and b) helps?
  13. Sorry should have mentioned this was on an Imac mini.
  14. I noticed this yesterday, but only when I had the router server open in a multi tabbed browser (Brave), so I thought I would see what happened when I opened it in its own window the problem went away. This could be coincidence, I don't know, though I did notice that when I went to another tab, it stopped working properly. I haven't tried to recreate the fault in any other way.
  15. I think it is that good. PIng optimiser 2.0 has given me back playability, even when our American friends jump on our servers, i'm still able to have a competitive game. The new geofilter is brilliant too, its made multiplayer gaming something I want to do again. I don't want to appear to be blowing smoke where is shouldn't be blown, but this is the best gaming router on the market bar none, and I should know I own a few. Just to add a bit of balance, I did have some teething problems in the beginning, though this was down to operator error, and shouldn't be a reflection of the R3. I think you have done a brilliant job, and all the team should be very proud. Thank you and seasons greetings to you all, enjoy the time off, you deserve it.
  16. So Super Qos is now working as it should on the R3. And now I can tell you how happy I am with the new R3 its brilliant
  17. My nice new shiny R3 arrived an hour ago, and it is plugged in and running. Dumaos 4 looks amazing and has some really cool looking features, all of which I will test in the fullness of time. I do have one concern though; super QOS doesn't seem to be performing as well as it did on the R2. My ping test comes back at 14, with a jitter of .05, though when I run ping optimiser, it tells me a ping of 54 is the best it can achieve. When I speed tested the R2 through Ookla (it does a ping test under load), both upload and download showed super QOS working to maintain ping at around 17-20, though on the new R3 download doesn't appear to be managed, and goes to about 59, while download ping does fluctuate around 17-19. Is there something I need to do, or have I overlooked something. I'm still working on where all the settings are?
  18. I can confirm this works, I use PPPOE and super QOS is working amazingly, I am having the best online gaming ever, hit detection has never been like it is now.
  19. Really pleased you knock the lights off, it’s the first thing I do with any new tech. Also not a fan of flashing lights.
  20. Well I have preordered the R3 to add to my ever growing list. Iam still extremely impressed super Qos on the R2, can’t wait to see what the R3 is like.
  21. Hey Fraser, and all you guys for that matter. I thought you might like to know that Super QOS is awesome, its got to be the best thing I have had for a long time, its like Christmas has come early. Awesome job guys well done. Thank you.
  22. Hey Fraser, been away for a while, but back now, what do I have to do to get early access to new firmware, I have signed up for it. Super QOS who doesn't want some of that?
  23. Hey Fraser, Thank you.
  24. I am using PureVPN! Its really weird, the servers were connecting on the R2, though it was blocking me from the internet.I had reset the R2, and factory reset, (that stuff gets boring real fast)), and still had the same issues. I have switched to my X700 and using exactly the same settings, I can get onto the internet unhindered (whilst the VPN is active), Though I really want to use the R2 because of Dumaos3 (not having a pop at you guys), and would like to be able to use VPN on the R2, or on something with Dumaos3
  25. So still no word back from HMA. I have scoured their help files, and all the links OVPN are broken. Pure VPN connects to the servers, but then I can’t connect to the internet at all, I have tried all the uk and Ireland servers. with no joy, I really need to use a uk server. Why isn’t this easy. Pure VPN have a help page for the PS5 its hilarious (https://www.purevpn.com/blog/ps5-vpn/), you should have a look. It claims you can connect your Mac/PC to ethernet and your PS5 to ethernet and you will be protected by a VPN on your PS5, also claims that the PS5 have a VPN setting in wifi settings. Can someone please tel lme what VPN service they are using on the R2, and does it work?
