ExtraCrispy86
So I just purchased the R1, doing a little research waiting for it to be shipped lol , I'm looking for the proper hookup order for my setup. Should I Dmz through my R8500 because of my gigabit speed and will I be able to use the one click vpn on multiple devices if so?
A7Legit
I think the Netduma team would advise Modem > Netduma > R8500. If not mistaken, the congestion control settings the Netduma offer are not available if you put the R8500 in front of the Netduma, which is why my above suggestion will make everything the Netduma R1 has on offer available to you... Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted December 15, 2015 Administrators Share Posted December 15, 2015 Welcome to the forum and thanks for purchasing! You should be able to reach ~900mbps through the R1. I'd suggest what A7 has said above and put the R8500 into AP mode. You can then use the VPN feature for all devices, even those connected to the R8500. You do need a separate VPN subscription to use the feature. ExtraCrispy86
Ok, thanks for the help. One more thing, I've been reading that to get 900mbps I'd have to put it in super turbo mode. I'd still like to use the netduma teams awesome congestion control for all 15+ devices connected, has there been an update to the software/firmware to allow over 500mbps to be sent to my R8500 and still be able to run CC properly? Oh and is Hide my ass still the only VPN currently compatible with the R1?
PharmDawgg
Yeah if you use super turbo mode you cannot use the congestion control settings. You only can use congestion control settings with turbo. You can use other VPNs with the R1 but you have to input the config file under the advanced settings area.
