The point of the dedi is to give you the lowest ping games wit in a specific area,which you set on your GF.But like Fraser said the duma can't stop others with bad connections from connecting to the same server.That would be manipulating matchmaking and viewed as cheating,if your having bad games check out the player bars in game (it's not 100 % accurate but accurate enough for our purposes) and you'l find some 2 and 3 bar connections in your lobby.Just finish the game and back out and find a new lobby,hopefully with better results. Hi Spencer, Your ping to the host is by far and away the most important factor with online gaming. The Geo-Filter minimises ping because distance is usually the dominant factor in ping. Obviously with ping assist you literally minimise ping. Anyway without going into too much detail. Lets there are two players: Player A has 20ms ping Player B has 100ms ping If you both pulled the trigger at the same time with a one shot kill gun. Your command would reach the host before them. When their shot reaches the host (80ms after yours) the host will say you're already dead so there shot won't register but yours will. Hence the huge advantage. Hope that makes sense.
