Yes UPNP needs to be ticked, it works 99% of the time. Some games like BO3 i had to do a manual port forward to get my NAT from moderate to open.

If your NAT is open then I think most just make sure UPNP is ticked in UPNP.

 

And then in miscellaneous they don't have it ticked,and that's the way I have it in my settings.And I have an open NAT and no issues but your milage may vary.

I think I have an open NAT on both PS4 and the Xbox One. I wasn't sure if it should be ticked or not because I saw it unticked.

 

But since the update gaming is so inconsistent. I have an 11ms ping and 2 out of 3 games is bad every time. Still shoot first and die first, connect outaide of GF.

I have UPNP ticked but still had to tick Port Forwarding on the MISC page because my security cameras were not working.

As soon as i ticked Port Forwarding, my security cameras were able to stream to my phone.

UPnP forwarding is if you cannot access your ISP hub to put the R1 in the DMZ or get an open NAT with the usual steps - DMZ, UPnP on etc. It attempts to forward ports on the ISP hub itself.

Ah ok. So not really something I should use.
