Xacebop
Hi guys I just ordered my r1 it should be here Monday. I've been playing fps shooters since quake 1, so nearly 20 years. I spent over $110 getting black ops 3 and the season pass. My internet is charter (in California) so it's around 30 up 5 down, in actuality it's more like 15/3. I play on wifi due to only having one cable port in my entire house which is inconveniently located. It's about 15 feet from my main tv so I get a 100% connection to the router on my ps4. My router is a Belkin n600 btw. Anyways, I've been having issue after issue with this new call of duty. First my geographic settings are set to Texas by activision, my isp confirms its not on their end, activision blames my isp. I experience severe rubber banding every time I play. So I spent all day tweaking my router, dns, etc and now I have no location (it shows , , , ,)but I'm getting no rubber banding. My issues are now even more frustrating. My hit registers are just all over the map. I'll see someone first by a mile and start shooting, one smg shot I'm dead, I review the kill cam, the guy has me beat and lands 4-6 shots. This happens every single game every time I'm killed. It's like they're playing the game a few seconds in the future, it's weird. My questions are whether I can still utilize the r1 successfully via the wifi due to uninterrupted signal range? If so should I get rid of my Belkin router altogether and just use the Duma, or what would be optimal aside from wired if possible. Wired would be possible I guess if I got two really long wired cords and went from router to Duma to ps4. And finally, are the problems I've outlined above reason enough for me to justify this purchase? I gotta say I am very excited to try this out, but I'm not looking for another full time job just to have a game where I'm not handicapped. Netduma Staff Netduma Crossy Posted November 21, 2015 Netduma Staff Share Posted November 21, 2015 Hey Xacebop, welcome to the forum First of all, I'd suggest getting a pair of these (power line adapters)! You can probably get them from stores around you or from Amazon but they are so much better than Wifi. Would definitely suggest getting a pair to use with the R1 to really notice the difference The Netduma in almost all situations guarantee a low ping to the host. It does this by making sure there is no local congestion and that the host is as close to you as possible. As long as you understand that this is the purpose and your expectations aren't that it will make you a gaming God then I think that you'll definitely benefit from using it and will get improved games What is the Wifi like on your Belkin router? If it is good you could connect it to the Netduma in AP mode and let it handle all the Wifi You definitely want to make sure all devices are going through the Netduma though! How exactly do those adapters work? You just plug it into the wall and run a line to your ps4? And no like I said I just want a game where I don't feel handicapped. In every other call of duty I'm a mid to high end player I never go below 1kd. In this one im not being out skilled, its either the netcode my connection or both. The range I know is great it sits near the middle of my house and my room on the other side never has any issues, when I check the connectivity meter it's around 70% for my furthest device. Netduma Staff Netduma Crossy Posted November 21, 2015 Netduma Staff Share Posted November 21, 2015 Yeah. You plug one into the router with an ethernet cable and one into your PS4 with an ethernet cable and when I used them they worked fantastic.
