I have just ordered this was so excited on viewing the videos etc looks an amazing bit of kit.

I have a Billion 7800N router and want to know how best to set it up in use with the Netduma what settings do i have to change etc? I am currently on an Adsl 2 10mb connection and 1mb upload.

I will be playing Black Ops 3 on Xbox one for added information mainly.

Hi Bingham, welcome to the forum :)

All you'll need to do is connect the Netduma to the Billion then put the Netduma DMZ which is the recommended setup when using a router in front of the Netduma. When you get it, these instructions should help you get it all setup with your Xbox.

Hi welcome I used a 7800n with my ADSL line so any help with this just holla.

Master socket > 7800n > netduma (all devices connected to the duma wired and wifi)

On the 7800n Turn off wifi take and any port forwarding rules out if you have ever made any, leave all other settings as they were.

They say to use preemtive for under 50mb but I found reactive to be way better at keeping my pings low while the network was under use.

There are two ways to get an open NAT either put the dumas WAN IP into the Billions DMZ or how I prefer to tick Enable upnp forwarding in settings / misc settings of the duma.

The wiki is a good place to start to learn the device Here

Hope you have fun as much as I do, it changed my life not having to argue with my lad over us making each other lag haha

Thanks very much for the replies I am currently on Interleaving on my connection I believe and get about 30 ping would it be best to take off interleaving unfortuantely going to sacrifice speed I know.

Also second question do I run all my Wifi related stuff off the Duma Wifi or can I run it off the Netgear still?

I would defiantly go with fast path over interleaving as interleaving retransmits packets making the journey take longer if there is an error.

Adsl fast path will just drop the packet.

Netgear? You mean the 7800n I am sure. Yes run all wired and Wifi from the Netduma this way you can use the congestion control to full effect, stopping local network lag from other users on your networks streaming or surfing etc.

Another question I use a switch so only have one device plugged into my router minus the Wifi will I still be able to shape the traffic.

Zennon do you remember the actual controls you set under congestion reactive and 60-70% for both?

Yeah, the switch will be transparent to the Netduma so you will still be able to see each individual device :)

Problems from the off I just got the router have setup my Netduma i basically have  wall - Billion 7800N (running Adsl 2 connection)  which did have cat 6 cable plugged in running upstairs to a switch to provide internet for devices upstairs that now plugged in ethernet port 2 on Netduma.

So on the Netduma i used the red cable and plugged that from Ethernet port 1 POE to the router ethernet port but I have no internet and cant access the Netduma on default IP at all any ideas?

So your setup is Billion > Switch > Netduma or Billion > Netduma > Switch?

Depending on what your answer is to that, which device are you using to access the interface and what is it connected to?
