Mr fncypants
I live in New York and have been playing for days now. I only play FFA and I have been hosting the lobbies according to my Duma. I followed the instructions the techs here put up to play and all is good for me. What I have noticed is the damage on the guns aren't that strong. So killing enemies takes a bit longer thus fooling you into thinking your shooting marshmallows!!!! Once I unlocked the assault rifle man of war it's been much better as far as ttk. Just my 2 sense. Limagreen
I had like 3 games i just owned everyone. Felt no lag at all, i could jump and shoot and still get kills. Everything just felt "NORMAL" and my skills became true! Then the lag went back and i got slapped in the face with a d1ck! LOL, sounds right for COD. Honestly the Delay sometimes kicks in at half time when playing Domination, so much so that the losing team suddenly become Gods, and turn the game on its head. Its all about whomever has the better hit detection. Throttling the bandwidth seems to have no effect on the amount of delay you experience. I will say though that the NETDUMA is doing its job, and I have a better chance at a higher percentage of good connections, and less delay with the setting on strict, and ping assist set at 0. I am in Ontario Canada, and set up my geo filter to 800 kms. When I get 15ms and 20 ms games, these are peer to peer, and play amazing. The dedis are rough, and generally have more delay regardless of ping. Host migrations, and losing the connection to BO3 servers are still common. Give it time, and the patches will start to roll out. Without the DUMA, I would really not be having a great time, but with the DUMA, its all manageable.Looking forward to the Firmware upgrade. So I was just checking out Youtube videos so far regarding BO3. It seems the Silencers dramatically reduce the range of the weapons. In the case of LMGs they seem to go right down to 40% of the distance without a silencer. I had many wtf moments thinking that there were skipped frames or jitter that made my gun feel like I was shooting marshmallows. At a distance, with a silencer, you will get hit markers for days without your opponent going down. They just sit there and return fire until you go down. If you want to see the video, Driftor has made a video showing you the distance to kill with and without silencers for each class of weapons. The one weapon that has taken the worst hit is the Gorgon.

BENORMOUS
Well I've played tonight and had a great online experience, good hit detection for the best part, they just need to make those assault rifles a bit stronger and reduce a bit of recoil and I think we have a great game So far I'm loving black ops
secretface
Try moving your home location away from the East Coast (NY, NE, etc.) to less populated areas e.g. Kansas. There is just too much internet congestion on the East Coast that a lot of the routing goes out of the country to try and circumvent this. Using the KC server, it is almost a direct line West, at least for me. I put myself smack in the middle of Russia and played a while didn't seem to do anything. I know wait two min. My sweetspot is a 40 to 50 ms ping to host. If I could find that every time it would be great. Thing is I'm usually 15 to 25ms ping and am behind for some reason about a sec or two. Also Connor I think all I have ever connected too was Kansas and Seattle (if they are accurate locations)
secretface
Ok here is something I noticed tonight the duma ping says 15 to 20 but BO3 saying closer to 200 ms ping . weird.
kevo
The enemy footstep are low but audible. As for connection I am using my normal 310km Geo ping assist 0 70% CC each way and finding smooth games in the UK. Playing solo was the best cod to date for connections but when my friend who uses the dreaded Virgin cable partied up with me it went to mush, I went from pulling around 2.5kd matches to just holding a 1kd and in 1 case going negative. He has bad jitter and like all cods his connection in my lobby is averaged so I feel his pain and I have forced compensation that adds ping to my usually low latency connection, as soon as he left back to hosing down people, crazy system but I am playing solo today sod that haha yall have been beta testing the new firmware updates we in the us have not seen or gotten anything
Murdoch
I played a couple games each night since launch and I find the game play very boring. This is only my second cod game ever, aw being the first. It seems to be a lot of camping and simply reaction time kills. The connections are much worse than aw and the specialists stuff I really don't care for. I think I will just wait until the anti jitter release and play cod aw, which plays great for me. Just not what I thought it would be.

If you can, play BO2 and even Ghosts because those are more traditional CoDs and similar to why we all fell in love with the series in the first place besides the WWII entries. AW requires no skill... No offense... And is the most noob friendly of all the CoDs in my and many fans opinions. On top of that, it has the worst technical aspects such as in-engine latency and terrible connections (for some). I am glad you are enjoying it, but don't judge the CoD franchise on AW and BO3 alone as these are "Future Editions" -- set in the future -- Whereas previous CoDs were more "realistic" in a lot of respects (no lasers, jetpacks, cyber abilities, etc.) even for an arcade shooter.
