Destiny - black/white lists and PS4 DMZ

Recommended Posts

I've been trying to add people that has really horrible ping (300ms+) to a black list so that I won't match them again, in Destiny.

However, I can't figure out how to... I clicked on the map thing, trying to look for the one that has excessive peer pings.

The converse is true for adding friends to a whitelist. Still trying to figure out the UI.

Oops: just read more about PS4 NAT. ignore the following

Last question :D:

PS4 says i am NAT type 2. I've always been type 2, is it better if I open it? I am concerned about the security ramifications.

thanks heaps.

Hi Slashjjj, you can only block the host currently I'm afraid.

If its someone connecting to your game it can't be helped BUT there was a suggestion which is now on the ticket system for a future update.

It will allow you to click on the problem ping bar & see which culprit it is on the map so you can place them in your deny list !  :o

More important updates are needed first but the Duma Guys, no doubt, will address these features in the near future. They are more for 'quality' than 'quantity' ;)

Hi Slash :)

This explains how you can add people to your allow/deny list.

Thanks very much for that Crossy. I read that previously but have two questions:

1) I can't seem to enter any names to the Host Description box. I am using safari on OSX and the UI is very slow. I clicked on the circles on the map but... the interaction seems to end there.

2) I have to drag the bar to 100%? what happens when I drag it to 50%? Sorry I tried reading more but it says Topic not Exists yet.

Can you try using Chrome/Firefox please and see if you're able to enter a name for them now as these are the recommended browsers to use with our interface.

When you click update a white circle will appear in Deny&Allow corresponding to the percentage you put in e.g. rating a host at 50% would put it directly in the middle of Deny&Allow, unless you have moved the green/red areas it would be in the middle where it is neither blocked or allowed, so effectively you'll just be saving that host. As I say though you can move the colours to cover more area so you could then make it blocked or allowed.

Hey mate, yeah chrome seems to work better for me - more responsive.

And yes, I figured out how to the Deny/Allow interface, though if I may suggest a simplified UI?

A continual rating scale is actually requires a bit more work from a decision process point of view, would it not be simpler to just have 3 ratings of Green, Yellow and Red?

Green = Accept

Yellow = Save / undecided

Red = Deny

Of course, I only play Destiny PvP.. so it maybe a very simple use case while you have to encompass all games. Just a thought.

I think the allow and deny was planned to get redone at some point anyway to make it simpler :)
