Stupid question - but how do I actually ENABLE the geo filter?

Recommended Posts

Hi all, just received the Netduma and have really high hopes.

From Sydney, Australia with a Fibre connection 100M Down /40M up and only play Destiny.

So I set everything up, with the R1 connected to my modem and PS4 hardwired.

Configured the R1 as suggested with Destiny - Peer ping, Auto Cloud and Bleeding edge enabled.

Went to Host Filtering, setup my PS4... click Enable

Set my Geofence to 3000km just for Australia and test out some Iron Banner games..

The peer ping mean looks great - about 80ms. but in game, its utter shit.

I mean, there's no difference than before.

my hits are not registering, and people are jumping around like ghosts. Some were even stuck and not moving... clearly lagging.

Oh, I've updated to the latest firmware as well and restarted the R1.

I am sure I am doing something stupid and wrong... just don't know what.

EDIT: is there a way to set "Peer Ping" on by default? It always reset to off.

I leave mine up for substantial amounts of time so I always forget if anything changes lol, however, once you check enable it should be working on that system. My guess (and that's all this guess is) is that you're trying to limit connections with the geofilter, but the game is connecting you to people outside of said filter and therefore causing you lag (as your router is attempting to deny the connections). Be sure to have set up your Duma with the optimal settings on the wiki and I'm sure there are other more specific guides for Destiny on here as well =3

Thanks, yes it says "disable" right now.

I will play a few more games and see how it pans out. IB is not really a good test anyway, Trials and 6 people matches are far more important to me.

What is the quickest way to Add a friend to the Whitelist for not blocking?

Make sure you have Enable cookies checked in the Settings>Miscellaneous.  Then it should save your settings saved after about an hour.  One quick way you can save your settings is to reboot the router by selecting the Reboot Router button in the same area.
