Zennon
Ben are UK? A quad core, 4gb ram , 500gb hdd would do you and should be cheap and would be fast. Remember when you get it home and it needs set up never click on recommended set up look for the hidden custom in small writing and never use a Microsoft account to sign in (data collecting) look for skip, then local account. If it is WIndows 10 when in custom set up un-tick everything then once it has booted go to start /settings /privacy and un-tick everything in all sections if you do not it harvests all your data from use. Run "destroy windows 10 spying" if you need a link I will link you up. Do not use edge it data mines all the sites you use, bookmarks history etc, use an open source browser like firefox. Do not use AVG free as from the 16th they are using your internet history and selling it on also. Use startpage and stop Google from doing the same. Lets make it hard for these horrible data mining company's that sell your data to third partys

Zennon
If you buy one from a store like Pc world do not buy Mcafee or Norton from them , they are poor for the price. The 4 year warrenty is not worth it either, wait until the first free year of warranty is nearly up then purchase then you do not lose the first free year if you feel the need for an extended. Like most electronics if it lasts a year without failing it is good to go and will last a lot longer (screen breaks and hdd fails can happen any time) It will more than likely have a 30 day Mcafee installed, un-install and install Avast, 1 year free if you register with an email the best free AV at the moment. If you want to by an AV then Kaspersky, Bitdefender or Eset are great. Hope this helps
