Zero_Actual
For the last 2 days I had my Asus router set up in ASAP mode to utilize the wifi. However today it no longer is working. Any ideas on why this may be?
Zero_Actual
Meant to say AP mode
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted September 21, 2015 Administrators Share Posted September 21, 2015 Can you still see the wifi and connect to it? Have you rebooted the asus?
Zero_Actual
Yes I can see the wifi for both 2.4 and 5ghz. When I select one it connects to it but within seconds I get the circle that shows up like its trying to connect again. This happens over and over. I have tried rebooting both routers and modem. I have wifi work around on the R1 disabled/unticked as well.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted September 21, 2015 Administrators Share Posted September 21, 2015 Okay can you disable the wifi on the R1 as well to remove any possible interference that may be occurring. Also ensure you're connected with automatic settings
Zero_Actual
I had the wifi disabled on the R1 already. Not sure what you mean by "automatic settings"?

Zero_Actual
Yes automatic IP's. Well other than the PS4's.
Zennon
Could you check if the wifi channel is congested with any of these http://www.howtogeek.com/197268/how-to-find-the-best-wi-fi-channel-for-your-router-on-any-operating-system/ If it is move channel and re test
Zero_Actual
It's not the channel unfortunately.
Zennon
As you have made sure the work around is un-ticked have you tested with it ticked?
Zero_Actual
I will give that a try and let you know.
Zero_Actual
Enabling wifi work around seemed to work for the time being! Why would that make a difference? Everything I've read says to disable it.
PharmDawgg
I have an Asus as a AP and I have never run into this. And it is the only wifi I run. My wifi on the R1 is turned off. And I have an Ethernet chord running fromm the R1 to the LAN side of the Asus. Curious.
Zero_Actual
Not real sure either. However enabling the wifi work around is helping so far, but it's only been 2 hours since trying it. Time will tell...
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted September 22, 2015 Administrators Share Posted September 22, 2015 The wifi workaround was brought in for some people that had wifi issues, the majority of the time people seem to have issues with it on but in some cases, like yours it seems to work which is great
