Mike.G Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 My R1 is down, host filtering is blank and so are the other options. I'm running version 1.02.6 I've tried to upgrade but getting some type of error( exit code 2). I'm not sure what's going on. I did power cycle the R1,but no change. I saw this issue on another post with no explanation or fix.
Mike.G Posted September 15, 2015 Author Posted September 15, 2015 Well I tried a hard reset( little button) on the back. That was a bad idea. Nothings working now. How do I send this thing back to be fixed?
PharmDawgg Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 Yes you are correct. Always reboot router by going to settings>misc>reboot router. Only use the button on the rear if instructed by one of the admins. This link may/may not help. If not, the guys in the morning should get you back up and going. http://wiki.netduma.com/doku.php?id=unbrick_router&s[]=bricked
Mike.G Posted September 15, 2015 Author Posted September 15, 2015 Thanks for your help. Yeah it was a bad idea. I just hope to get it fixed some how.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted September 15, 2015 Administrators Posted September 15, 2015 Hey Mike, after following the guide Buck provided did that enable you to access the R1 dashboard again? Also when you're trying to upgrade what options do you have ticked?
Mike.G Posted September 15, 2015 Author Posted September 15, 2015 Good morning Fraser. Yes I've tried it, but it comes back error address unreachable. Both options were ticked while trying to upgrade.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted September 15, 2015 Administrators Posted September 15, 2015 Can you see any wifi being broadcasted at all?
Netduma Staff Netduma Crossy Posted September 15, 2015 Netduma Staff Posted September 15, 2015 So you before you reset using the button on the back you could access the dashboard and you were on 1.02.06 before reseting? That reset button was only added in 1.02.7. How long did you press it for?
Mike.G Posted September 15, 2015 Author Posted September 15, 2015 Yea before the button reset, I was able acces the dashboard. It was version 1.02.06 I did the upgrade to 1.02.06 myself with no problem several months ago. This time was a no..go. I held the button for 8-10 seconds
Mike.G Posted September 15, 2015 Author Posted September 15, 2015 Is there some type of warenty with the R1? I've had it for less then a year.
Netduma Staff Netduma Crossy Posted September 15, 2015 Netduma Staff Posted September 15, 2015 I can't say for sure so don't take my word for it but it sounds like it *could* be bricked. I don't think the duma become unbreakable until 1.02.07. There is a fix you can do but from what I gather it is quite technical and required lots of help from Netduma to do.
Mike.G Posted September 15, 2015 Author Posted September 15, 2015 Hey Crossy.. Is there someone I can talk to about getting it fixed? Phone number, service department?
Netduma Staff Netduma Crossy Posted September 15, 2015 Netduma Staff Posted September 15, 2015 Usually support is done on forums. I think when Fraser replies he'll be able to advise you on what to do
Mike.G Posted September 15, 2015 Author Posted September 15, 2015 I think the guys at Netduma need to add some type of warning label about the reset button on the of back unit. Just for people like me.
Netduma Staff Netduma Crossy Posted September 15, 2015 Netduma Staff Posted September 15, 2015 I think the guys at Netduma need to add some type of warning label about the reset button on the back unit. The button works for the new units because they come loaded with a newer version. You must have got yours before that change was made
Mike.G Posted September 15, 2015 Author Posted September 15, 2015 I got mine last November. I love my R1
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted September 15, 2015 Administrators Posted September 15, 2015 As Crossy says its not brickable until after 1.02.7 so looks like you've bricked it unfortunately. I will talk to the team tomorrow and figure out the next course of action
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted September 16, 2015 Administrators Posted September 16, 2015 PM'd you
DavidBeckham7 Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 PM'd you The PMing must be very selective in this forum. Or maybe that Adam guy was right about a few things.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted September 16, 2015 Administrators Posted September 16, 2015 The PMing must be very selective in this forum. Or maybe that Adam guy was right about a few things. If you'd care to look at your PM's you would see one from me. Someone who has bricked their router is a big concern. The update has not been released yet, you would know if we had released it. Considering you made a UK account for the purpose of getting the upgrade early you won't be receiving it until it goes out to everyone else. As this issue has now been resolved by PM I will close this thread.
