DerPolacke
Hello, before the Netduma i had the D-Link DIR-868L and i downloaded from steam with 1.5mb/s now with netdume i do mac 1.1mb/s I haxe Share excess off, caps at 100%, algorithm, preemptive. all i need is that i can ALWAYS use 100% of the internet when i need, but all other that are connected can use MAX xx% (depends on % CAP) of the up- download speed. Why should i cap my own connection lol ? O.oI even pay for the internet + i buy routers not them. But some of them watch youtube. Now its 01:46am so all sleep. I'm the only one that is using the internet now. Does the CAP only cap all other devices except of my PC and how does the router knows that im the "Admin" ? PharmDawgg
First of all are you running firmware 1.03.4. It at the bottom your R1 screen. If not do this first: http://wiki.netduma.com/doku.php?id=manual_update&s[]=update Second in order to get you speeds at their maximum for this http://wiki.netduma.com/doku.php?id=fine_tune_netduma Third this should help explain the capping concepthttp://wiki.netduma.com/doku.php?id=cc_settings&s[]=congestion&s[]=control And no the question concerning 'Admin'-- the router can not distinguish this. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted September 11, 2015 Administrators Share Posted September 11, 2015 Hey Der, I would definitely not recommend having share excess off, in fact theres really no need to have it off at all. Everyone will get what they need and if you're not using the upload they can. If you follow Bucks links that should get you sorted

So everyone can use the Netduma Panel and change stuff ? Sounds pretty secure to me.

Can you go on speedtest.net and run a speed test with Netduma and speed test with D-link. Then link the results here please

Buds
When was the last time you got a speed test at the higher level? I assume you know your speed from ISP is not guaranteed and looking at your ISP rating on speedtest they don't appear to be highly thought of. You could be looking for a problem with the Netduma when it could just be your connection at this moment from ISP. Your speeds are actually so slow you could run an emulator on the router and it could still deliver that speed! I'm being facetious of course, but there is nothing on router (in either running mode - reactive or preemptive) that should impact a connection at that level. Akic
As buds said. Speeds from ISPs are not guaranteed and speedtest servers also have a variation in their results depending on load. You'd need a few tests from various servers at different times of day to get an accurate picture.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted September 12, 2015 Administrators Share Posted September 12, 2015 What are the speeds you pay for? What do you get through your other router? As the others say could be to do with the ISP
