after playing about 20 mins of black ops 3 beta on the xbox one i must the connection for me was pretty good but the game was stale.i normally play ground war 9v9 but 6v6 tdm was super slow nobody moved everybody camped with their specialist it was just a boring beta. Its sad i went back to advanced warfare and enjoyed it lol. let me know how are you guys are enjoying the xbox one beta and for the ps4 people how was your experience as well.I still dont get why people are camping in a beta like their kd ratio is gonna count

I enjoyed the beta on PS4, but yes the campers are back in force.. I didn't find it as slow paced as I feared it would be.. the dedi servers, suck, 40ms for 2min of the game then 300ms for the rest..

my tdm games were lasting 10 mins

I played the Beta on the PS4 and am currently playing it on the PC with my PS4 controller.

1st thing is, in both games, it has a strong tendency to connect you to a Dedicated Server.
But as Drift0r has said, my country sadly doesn't have any Dedicated Servers locally and all of South East Asia as well as China are forced to Connect to Japan's server no matter the ping.

Thus, all my games have been above 100ms. But the weird thing is this. I am still able to fight against all the other players even if they have a lower ping than me (though if they are from the same country as the dedicated servers like Japan, I'm definitely going to be experiencing the 'shoot first, die first' scenario). But at the same time, other players with 100ms or more are not getting the same advantage as me. Hmm...

Thus, my theory is this. The new guy that Treyarch has hired is quite smart in his method to resolve the lag by inputting the amount of Lag Compensation not by your ping but by your region/country. What this will ultimately result in is if you are lagging yourself on purpose to gain the advantage, it will obviously not work at all. But if you are genuinely from a far away country and you are lagging, the compensation kicks in to make your experience almost equal to that of better ping players.

But.. they may have also added on something else. To also gain this fair system, you must also have a good connection as I've seen that in this game, I have not felt my character being sluggish like as if I'm being Lag Comped for having a good connection. But instead, I have a better gaming experience as opposed to when I throttled my speeds.

These are my theories anyway. But thinking logically and in the mind of a Networking Programmer, it makes sense as this will solve a lot of the cases of people lagging themselves on purpose and all other exploits.

I guess this is more of a player problem. Like certain countries like Japan, camping is a major problem.

But thanks to the Netduma, I am able to block them from time to time except for their server.

So I get a chance to play with my fellow South East Asian players without those damn campers. So a majority of my games has been under 10 mins.  :D

If they just made match making search for games by ping and stopped catering to the person living in a clay hut with a potato as internet then the game would work fine just as it did prior to the black ops 1 era.

Exactly my point. Other players with more than 100ms ping are not getting the same advantage as me. And most of South East Asia are running on broadband speeds that are relatively fine but have terrible ping/latency.

As for me, I have a Fibre connection in my country and my ping to countries like Japan are around 70ms (as seen in the Netduma though when I mentioned 100+ms, I am referring to the in-game stats).

Thus my point is this. Even if you are from a far away country or even closer country to the Server, if your speed and ping is just that bad, you can forget about getting the advantage.

That is what I love about this game. It really reminds me of MW2 and COD4. It is basically telling you that if you have a terrible connection, get a better internet! (The way gaming should be based on in the first place)

I'm agreeing with you lol the game felt great on PS4 even when it was lagging because of the sever issues the gunfights just felt right. I played about a week of black ops 2 on release and quit that game from the lag problems. I played bo3 for 6 days and I want more. That's a big step lol

But yeah, if you have trash internet you shouldn't be able to have the same experience as everyone else. Upgrade or deal with playing in the lag.
