Paulo_81 Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago "Hi everyone, I'm currently on the DumaOS 4 Beta but my download/upload speeds are significantly lower than my ISP plan. Since the Beta is quite buggy for me, I'm considering rolling back. For those using the Netduma R2: Which firmware version is currently providing the most stable performance and full throughput (bandwidth) without reductions? Does version 3.2.453 handle full speeds well, or is there a specific older build that you recommend for maximum performance?"
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted 3 hours ago Administrators Posted 3 hours ago Are you testing just with the in-built speed test? As this does frequently show lower than expected results but it doesn't mean you are limited necessarily. So do check with speedtest.net for example. Make sure you've set the speeds you pay for/expect in Speed Test > Advanced and then in Ping Optimizer > Advanced ensure speed test bypass is enabled so it's unaffected by any Congestion Control settings you may currently have set and try again. It would also be a good idea to perform a factory reset as its a big firmware change from DumaOS 3. Otherwise let us know what speeds you're expecting and what you're actually getting please, along with an overview of your physical setup.

"Thanks for the reply. I have already performed all the tests as suggested, and the results remain the same. My connection uses PPPoE, and it's well-known that the Netduma R2 struggles to handle high speeds on this protocol due to CPU limitations with this type of encapsulation. Since the DumaOS 4 Beta is giving me even lower results than usual, I want to know: Is there any specific firmware version where the PPPoE implementation is more optimized, or is this a hardware limitation that no firmware update (including 3.2.453) will truly fix? I just want to reach my plan's full speed without the router bottlenecking the connection."

I think it's probably hardware more so on the R2. If you have the option then using the ISP router to handle PPPoE would be better of course.
