Caaq Posted November 30, 2025 Posted November 30, 2025 Hey yall, I’m looking for any ways to make hit reg the best in bo7. I have the xr1000 on 1000d/50u fibre plan and play on pc ethernet + static ip. I’ve seen bufferbloat the most, but also nat type, adapter properties via windows etc get thrown around a lot. I play on very low ping so just trying to get the most out of it. I tend to feel inconsistencies here and there in terms of hit registration in bo7 at the moment. Sure, some could be skill issue + frame drops perhaps… However i’ve troubleshooted so much that the rest just seem to be wacky hit registration. I tend to notice it the most when shooting players about to run behind cover. Aswell as a fair handful of gunfights id otherwise never lose up close, i.e me: full health no shots missed, shooting them first to half health before they even start to shoot back and the likes. I’ve got a solid understanding thus far of most internet stuff so if any guidance or optimisations can be given to nailing this down, it’d be much appreciated!
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted November 30, 2025 Administrators Posted November 30, 2025 If you're already playing on a low ping then there may not be much you can do but: What is the model of the modem/router the XR is connected to and how have you set that to ensure all traffic flows to the XR? E.g XR in its DMZ, modem/bridge mode Are ALL devices connected to the XR? Have you entered those speeds into the router? How have you setup Congestion Control? How have you setup Traffic Prioritization? How have you setup the Geo-Filter?
Caaq Posted 6 hours ago Author Posted 6 hours ago Hey sorry for the latest reply ever. I still have these concerns and also slightly in Valorant too. The XR1000 is connected directly to the NBN FTTP connection box (ONT). There is no modem/router between the two. The ONT simply converts fibre to Ethernet and does not perform routing. The XR1000 is connected to UNI-D1 on the ONT and is handling all routing, NAT, DHCP, firewall, and Wi-Fi functions. All devices are connected directly to the XR1000 (either via Ethernet or Wi-Fi). I hadn't realised until today, back in September '25, NBN had rolled out a free speed upgrade to high tier plans, so mine went from 1000d/50u -> 1000d/100u. Today I then adjusted the upload speed accordingly thru Advanced -> Network Speeds. I generally don't mess around with Congestion Control (still on the default both 100%/off). I'm aware that's probably the main thing that im going to need to do but prior to this i've just never seen much fix.. perhaps due to poor trial and error to be fair. Same goes generally with Bandwidth Allocation, that's kept at default as of now. As for Traffic Prioritization I currently have it off. For whatever reason it doesnt seem to prioritise my packets when set to only my device and Valorant and I'd rather not prioritise all gaming consoles as we have my PC and two PS5s usually running most afternoons. As for Geo-Filter, I mainly play Valorant but even on COD aswell I only ever play on my own servers. Never found much use for Geo-Filter due to this.
