We're aware Ping Optimizer isn't 100% reliable currently and we're looking to fix that for the next version. In the meantime you can adjust Congestion Control manually to achieve the same effect which can be found in Ping Optimizer > Advanced.

It's been almost a year since our last official update, a lot of features seem not to be working as advertised or are just broken overall. I really thought that when I bought a $200 router, it'd be more reliable and better supported.

I've made a post or two and some comments on here over the last few months, and not a single issue I've had has been resolved to any degree. Ping optimizer doesn't do anything as far as I can tell, ping is no different than on the spectrum default router, I still experience packet burst in COD. The geo filter is more of a suggestion than anything, as most games will put you in whatever server or just not let you connect at all, even if there is a server in your geofence. Idk what the issue is with Valorant, some days my ping to Chicago is 30, sometimes it's 5,0 sometimes it's 80, that doesn't make any sense. Ping heatmap is inaccurate, it doesn't even pull up servers for The Finals, and hasn't in MONTHS. You replied to my comment a few months ago and said it was coming soon, to try to resync the cloud in a few days, it's been months, and still nothing. Why have it as an option if it's gonna show N/A for every server?

I understand you're just the guy who talks to the community, but we spent good money on this product, and it seems like a lot of people are having the same recurring issues with no real fixes. I shouldn't have to jump through hoops, the stuff should just work, or not be advertised as working and disabled by default.

An update with bug fixes shouldn't be a yearly occurrence. I apologise if any of this has come off as rude, but this is my personal experience. I could go on and on about features I try to use that just don't work, but I'll spare you the reading as I fear this comment on a random post on the forum isn't going to get fixes any faster

The "Speed Test & Ping Optimizer" using outside service that sometimes doesn't work.Although it is helpful it's not exact and it's always better to adjust settings based on your own connection.

Packet burst in COD could be due to the spectrum modem. Some modems spectrum-handed out have a bad chipset and can cause those issues. Not sure if that's your exact situation but I have spectrum as well and I prefer to use my own modem. There are others in the community with spectrum maybe they'll  chime in.

I'm not sure why the Geofilter wouldn't be working properly for you as I've never had an issue with filtering games. Please elaborate on your geofilter settings I'm sure we can figure that out.

Lastly the "Ping Heat Map" even though it seems The Finals aren't showing servers correctly you can use other games on the list to get a good idea of what ping would be in those areas.

I'm not sure about the finals exactly but I know for Call of Duty if you look at the geofilter as soon as your loading into multiplayer you will see every available server show up for a few seconds. That's a good way to get an idea of where the servers are and you can even click on them to see what the Ping is.

It's unfortunate but the team goes radio silent when they're working on stuff. It's always been that way and always annoyed the community. Not to say it doesn't stink but we've just learned to deal with it over the years. Lol

That said they're working on some pretty cool stuff and when it finally releases to the public I think people will be pretty happy.. it just takes them a long time especially when they're working on new features.

The topic you made you haven't replied since my last comment there so if that's still a concern please post there and we can continue. In regards to your other comments, that's ongoing and it's always an ongoing task with making cloud updates to fix locations and whitelist certain servers. Games change servers all the time so we have to make changes frequently. Just to give you an idea, there are billions of IPv4 addresses, obviously not all belong to game servers. The Geo-Filter will do its best to geo-locate any address it comes into contact with but just based on those numbers, it's a statistical probability that actually the locations would be wrong, except they aren't, most of the time. When they are wrong though they can be wrong in very high numbers, it's not just a case of seeing a singular location keep coming up and thinking its just one server and so that's a quick fix. There could be literally thousands in that one location. We may correct what we think is all of them and then the week after they'll shift to using completely different ones and we may have only caught 20% for example.

Ping Optimizer tests what your base ping is - this should be very close to the ping you would see under normal circumstances doing nothing on the network, then it will simulate a busy network and measure the ping again, it would be much higher this time. It will then experiment with Congestion Control percentages to see what percentage can bring your ping down as close to your base ping as possible while the network is still busy. So it's purpose isn't to lower your ping below your base ping but to ensure your network stays stable even in the busiest of times, preventing it from affecting your gameplay. Heatmap is very similar to to what I mentioned for the Geo-Filter above, I will chase the team again to do an update for the finals.

I understand you're frustrated and I would be too in your situation, that's why I've given you a bit more information about what actually goes into fixing some of those problems you've described so you know why it can take longer than you might think. I'm absolutely happy for you to make a topic about your issues, especially re the Geo-Filter and we can see what we can do to help.
