Ace_Uk1000 Posted November 3 Posted November 3 Just an update, I've not seen any Oklahoma servers show up now, A lot more Dublin, London and Frankfurt, so Well done guys This still doesn't help me sometimes being dead after 2 shots or people being sponge magnets but it's a start Krush 1

I'm in Michigan and know there's no way I'm seeing 19 ms ping to Oklahoma. VNVYM VO8QW VKF39 Great thanks, I'll pass them on! 4 hours ago, sw3ar said: I can live with that party issues, but I hope you can fix that first part, when it stops matchmaking, when Im trying to connect as solo. 1 hour ago, sw3ar said: This is how it looks like after match is finished. If BF6 wants to connect me to server outside of my radius, it just won't connect me. It says next game ready but there is no gamemode name and map name. Again, that's not something we can improve upon unfortunately, it's just the way their matchmaking works. Fortnite works similarly, it will load you into a game and then try to connect you to it, if its blocked then it ends up making the process longer. I will double check with the team though to see if they've noticed this.

If I set PC as PC (currently as console), set filteting for EA GAMES (Battlefield etc) It won't pass initial logging. Maybe you can fix that?

We can fix that yes but it's likely to keep happening as they make changes, that's why I suggest using the console method
terry_b Posted November 6 Posted November 6 Is there an advantage to setting my PC as a PlayStation in device manager? I usually have it set to PC and under the EA Games group. It's not showing Oklahoma anymore, usually it seems like it's connecting to Ashburn, which is definitely the best server for me - but wow do I get a lot of people in game who should probably be connected elsewhere. So far I've loved the netduma UI and I'm happy with the router. I'm wondering if there's just a ton of matchmaking stuff on the network side of most modern online games now that don't seem to care about optimized connections? I wish we had the R3 back when the original modern warfare and Halo were the games to be playing. Today it seems like there's so much effort to compensate for bad latency that it negatively affects those with good latency.

The advantage is that the EA Games selection is likely to become outdated, by doing that workaround and adding your PC as a console to the Geo-Filter it won't get outdated and allow you to filter properly (barring any cloud changes that are needed). Good to hear about Oklahoma! Couldn't say for certain but it does seem in some games that they prefer speed of getting into a game over connection quality, not all games are like that though. It was actually dealing with lag in Halo that inspired the Geo-Filter/company in the first place! terry_b 1

MikeArroyo_87 Posted Thursday at 03:55 AM Posted Thursday at 03:55 AM Is there a reason why heatmap shows Dallas and Atlanta servers but it won’t allow me to connect to either of them? I’ve done everything that has been suggested in this forum. Still connecting to either Cali or Washington, which is giving me pings of over 60 majority of the time. thank you!!

Ping Heatmap just shows you the servers the game has, it's not a guarantee you can connect to them. To force servers you need to do the following: It's essential the Geo-Filter is enabled before the game client (e.g. Steam etc) if on PC or platform (e.g. Xbox, PlayStation) or the game have been launched. If you change Geo-Filter settings when you're on the game then you will need to restart the game for those changes to take effect, otherwise it will use the previous Geo-Filter settings and appear not to be working. For settings ensure Ping Assist and Geo-Latency are disabled in the Geo-Filter menu that can be found by clicking ⋮ in the top right hand corner of the page and go to Settings. Strict Mode should also be enabled, it is enabled by default so if you haven't disabled it you can ignore it. If you have disabled it or want to check it can be found in the same Settings menu as above or in Settings > Troubleshooting > Advanced > Developer Options depending on your firmware version. Fast Search should also be disabled which it is by default so can be ignored if you haven't changed it, otherwise this can be found in the same place.
MikeArroyo_87 Posted Thursday at 03:46 PM Posted Thursday at 03:46 PM I have all that, have followed every step to the T, but it still connects me to a far away server. I’m in Dallas Tx and it connects me to either Virginia or California. Also, this only happens if I have geo-filter is off because if I have it ON it never allows me to connect to server and produces an error. I could provide more pics of my settings and the error it produces with the geo-filter ON. Thank you in advance.

If the Geo-Filter is off then it's not doing anything so you will connect to wherever the game decides. Expand your radius to at least 1000Km then try again with it on
MikeArroyo_87 Posted Thursday at 05:05 PM Posted Thursday at 05:05 PM I did have it ON. But when it’s ON it won’t connect to any servers. I did expand the radius to over 1300miles with the same result.

oRaGaMi Posted Thursday at 06:27 PM Posted Thursday at 06:27 PM There is no Dallas or Chicago, netduma heat map is a lazy effort and they just put all the known amazon data centers, they didnt ever test if they were real. They also didnt update the geo filter. All this and bf6 having these bugs is really taking away from my fun.. Can you guys please make a priority to make sure popular games work? Bf6 is shooter of year and yet ...the most sought after feature on netduma routers still doesnt work anywhere jn the world other than central Europe. I bet thats where you guys play! Please update the USA server geo filter map and severs with their respective locations. Its been 2 months about and more since beta

When I can confirm that I'm connected to Auburn VA (I'm in MA) the game is much better - but lately it's been connecting to San Jose and other servers, with pings over 100 at times. It has been showing Dublin a lot, which I understand is authentication only - but there are times where it gets a ping from Dublin at 110 or soemthing, and then steady ping tries to bump up my ping to high 80s and it makes for a bad time. But with VPNs ruining any type of geofencing and a lot of games giving a lot of "help" to high ping players, I think it really comes down to the fact that we need game devs to do a better job with connection management. I WISH I had netduma back in the Halo 2/3 days! MikeArroyo_87 1

Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted Thursday at 10:07 PM Administrators Posted Thursday at 10:07 PM What is the error you see when you can't get a game? Do you see a blocked icon on the map when that happens?
MikeArroyo_87 Posted Thursday at 10:13 PM Posted Thursday at 10:13 PM Either can’t connect to server on the main screen or it will stay matchmaking for like 20-30 seconds then stop.

If it's happening on the main screen then there will definitely be something getting blocked that needs to be allowed - have you added any servers to your denied list? If so, remove them then see if you get the same issue please. Otherwise check for the blocked icon on the main when you try to get through the main menu and add it to your allow list. You may need to do it a few times to get all the servers but then it should be fine. If you pass on the IDs of those servers too we can get them allowed.

Ok, I’ll check that and report back. thank you.
