Savi Posted Sunday at 02:30 AM Posted Sunday at 02:30 AM Is there a way to bypass OBS from congestion control on Netduma R3 Router. Tripper 1
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted Sunday at 06:16 AM Administrators Posted Sunday at 06:16 AM Not specifically no but if you prioritize the device on SmartBOOST it can then take most of the speed Savi 1
Tripper Posted Sunday at 12:18 PM Posted Sunday at 12:18 PM @Netduma Fraser I'm enrolled in the Twitch 1440p beta, which has a maximum bitrate cap of 20 Mbps. The Twitch streamer preset in Smart QoS limits upload speed to 8 Mbps. Does Bandwidth Reservation modify this upload cap?

It just prioritizes Twitch streaming, there is no cap to how much it will prioritize unless other priorities are being used at the same time. You can reserve bandwidth up to 20Mbps per device/activity

The bandwidth is still consumed, even with Bandwidth Reservation set to 20 Mbps, and it's still causing me to drop frames in OBS.

Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted 10 hours ago Administrators Posted 10 hours ago How have you set your priorities exactly? I can't see how you would lose frames with those speeds/settings

Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted 9 hours ago Administrators Posted 9 hours ago A couple of suggestions: You set Cloudflare/Waveform speedtest at the highest priority - if you're using these speed tests on your phone that will be why you lose frames when running them - those lost frames wouldn't occur when doing other activities other than: Gaming & Discord are prioritized higher than streaming also - streaming requires steady bitrate so prioritizing streaming above all else is advised Video & Streaming / Twitch Streamer - choose one (the one that prioritizes most consistently) and delete the other You've chosen the expert mode of SmartBOOST and set manual priority values so it will follow these first. Consider switching to simple, tidying/removing any unnecessary priorities (a speedtest doesn't really need to be prioritized as when downloading anything it will always seek to max out your available bandwidth) and allowing the router to optimally manage the priorities you set in the order they're needed
