Rin
Hey Duma Team, I just set up the device and steady ping seems awesome but i never get it to activate, it says "not stabilized." Tried switching PC to playstation and resyncing and geo latency off but didnt work. I am not using smartboost or ping optimizer. Any idea how to fix this? Playing Cod Blops 6. Server region select is working and locking to where I want it and I can see ping to the server when in game. Thanks

Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 23 Administrators Share Posted January 23 It won't always be able to stabilize, especially if it can't ping the server properly - in the above example if you click on the server and the ping method shows traced then that will be why. It almost never does
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 23 Administrators Share Posted January 23 No not specifically, game servers don't respond to traditional pings which makes it difficult. We're working on a new ping method which may help in future PharmDawgg

Ive been loving the router, but I have a really jittery connection so this will be huge for me. One other side question, when it does stablize any reason why maxing the buffer (puts in game connection at 70ms) feels better than a lower ms with a smaller buffer? is it just the reduction in jitter? Sometimes I max the buffer out and i still see pings to the server go to like 200 ms, any idea what might cause this? Thanks for all of your help @Netduma Fraser

Thanks for all of your help @Netduma Fraser No we don't give out any ETAs and I only heard about it in passing so don't have much more information on it. You don't need to/shouldn't need to add too much but it gives you 1 consistent ping so even if it is high it is stable. You may also be experiencing lag compensation which could account for it as well

In the meantime is there anything else that comes to mind that may improve my ability to leverage steady ping? Also, I am using an asus as my main router and duma as a second router that connects to my PC. I added the WAN in the DMZ. Any other settings that I need to change? Thanks again for your time

Thanks again for your time Nothing specific that I am aware of to increase the frequency of it triggering. No settings really in that scenario but I would suggest you connect ALL devices to the R3 to it can effectively control the entire network - if needed, to help this you could disable the Asus WiFi so devices don't reconnect to it. Any progress or new firmwares coming soon? Stabilizer is never available in the latest call of duty. Really disappointing
