Hi Xaniene,

Orders placed before 1pm UK time on a working day will be dispatched the same day. Orders placed after this time will be dispatched the next working day. Delivery is handled by the courier you select at checkout (usually UPS), with the estimated delivery time displayed when you choose your shipping option. All routers are shipped from the United Kingdom. While delivery estimates are very accurate, they cannot be guaranteed.

During the Setup Wizard, you'll be given the chance to define your priorities. I would suggest putting Gaming at number 1, followed by Video & Streaming.

If required, you can also choose to prioritise specific devices over others. For example you may choose to prioriise your TV to give it more bandwidth for Crunchyroll.

Just make sure to do the Speed Test and Ping Optimiser during Setup Wizard, and you should be good to go.

Hey Alex! thanks for the fast response

I paid for the expedited order the 1-2 day shipping, but i don't think I've received any info it yet?

Couple more things, Does this router have the same issues as XR1000 V1 had?, Or will I not experience all that?

And is it still recommended to factory reset the router after updating the newest firmware? or is there a firmware you guys would recommend for my needs?

And are their any last min things I should know?

If you've emailed us I will have responded to you now with your tracking but if not email [email protected] and I can provide it to you.

What issue exactly? You don't need to factory reset after each update. We don't do specific updates for different needs, running the latest will generally be advisable.

Given your usage I would definitely suggest spending time fine tuning Congestion Control/your SmartBOOST priorities/bandwidth allocations to what works best for your household.

XR1000 V1 I had the constant disconnect issues, we had issues with the Duma OS not loading or getting infinitely stuck, or randomly booting us from router page, Not getting decent speeds (Compared to my other router edge router x I can pull like 900mbps on steam)

mobile devices acting weird on 5Ghz (if you tap a link that uses a weird shorten it'll never load but on my other router it loads fine) things like telegram shooting notifications twice (only happens with the XR1000, never had this issue on my other routers) it feels like theirs a huge delay or something with the XR1000

(I know you guys made your own router and thats why I wanted to buy it because you guys where always helpful to me when I bought the XR1,000 and I know most of the netgear products I have ever owned where always bad, anytime I get a nighthalk i'm always fighting with it to get it to obtain a ip, yet my edge router X or asus routers no issues other then can't handle my household)

(I did get the tracking and yes that was me, Thanks for the speedy tracking on it!)

To be totally transparent:

  1. Disconnects and trouble accessing the interface is something some people are experiencing - not everyone but we think we know why the disconnects are happening and we've reduced the issues accessing the interface, I'm confident they'll both be resolved.
  2. Not seen that issue at all

Where would I set up the custom DNS for all Devices including mobile/handhelds? Not seeing a spot for that in the R3 unless I'm missing a section.

That would be in WAN > Advanced

Ok so I did as you advised, setup cloudflare DNS

However my roomies are saying they can't log into things like Warframe and destiny now, (nether are down as far as we know) we didn't have these issues in the edge router for diagnostics , we even tried using default DNS, no real custom tweaks most of it is default

Games we can't connect to

COD, Destiny 2, Warframe, but can connect to a pal world dedicated server

This is happening on multiple computers

We also just loss net randomly and are unable to reconnect to the router now too

Any thoughts ?

Any of the devices struggling to connect to those games are they added to the Geo-Filter? If so if you disable the Geo-Filter for them does that issue continue?

What is the model of the modem/router the R3 is connected to and how have you set that to ensure all traffic flows to the R3? E.g. R3 in its DMZ, modem/bridge mode

We've disabled geo filter (issue still happens) we're also losing net off and on (I know you said your aware of that but figured I'd mention it) configuration is the same as I had the edge router X, just plugged into the modem very bare bone minus the custom DNS which we went back to default

https://a.co/d/htNVy71 this is the modem we use

Firmware 4.0.290

We downgraded to 4.0.236 and people can seem to log into mmorpgs

To note , I did precisely your advise on this thread and nothing else really, we unboxed, hooked up, followed your steps..

We've had the router page hang (none responsive), off and on disconnects, no MMORPG would load but private servers such as 7days or pal world , v rising worked fine , downgrading to the mention firmware my roomies and I can now connect to mmos

Hope this helps you guys look into the funkyness of the firmware

I've given you Early Access, could you try this firmware specifically for the disconnects please: https://forum.netduma.com/topic/56332-r3-disconnections/page/14/#comment-424833

If it fixes the connecting to the games as well please let me know!

Loaded the new firmware, can connect to mmorpgs now, will cont to test the disconnect issue, I'm aware they said the throughout is currently limited to 600 and their seems to be a weird thing with speeds degrading over time?

I use to do bug testing so please let me know if I can help track things down for you guys cause I want this router to be successful badly

They will degrade, Fraser has said if that happens though to stop and restart smart boost. That will get it back to normal (but lower than usual) speeds with this fw.

So far so good then! It shouldn't happen as much on that version as there was a fix for it in .290 but given .291 is just a quick build for the disconnect issue I can't be sure what it includes compared to .290, even though it's sequential doesn't mean it necessarily has what .290 has. You're in Early Access now so any new firmware posted there we'd be grateful for you to try it out and provide feedback!

My roommate did say when they tried to connect to the router it was all messed up, not sure if they snagged a screenshot as I'm not home atm (dog sitting)

I'll be home in like 5-6 days and I can go over all the different things we've noticed already + the issues I've found with the forums even, I really want to help and I do have a ton of experience with different stuff

Messed up in what sense? No worries at all, it's always appreciated!

Not quite sure, My roomie was keeping a eye on while I was dog sitting for my home owner out of town, Hopefully they will pitch in, I know they said it wasn't letting them respond to this thread for some reason

So I don't know if the net came back on its own cause the moment it went down roomies started messing with the router (sadly most of my house are disabled gamers so the net going down is a HUGE deal) I can confirm the net degrading in this beta firmware though, its pretty bad, Throughput is set to 600 but we barely get 400 and the way it seems to be defaultly handling everyone elses speeds is pretty bad people have been experiencing lag and everything, now that I'm home I can can personally keep a better eye on things as long as I don't keep getting pulled away from my pc (I'm aware your more focused on the Dcing issue but figured this was worth mentioning as a observation)

As for the forums a bunch of the links lead to broken links, I'd just honestly have someone redo the thread layouts or something or clean up all the broken links/pointless linking that serves zero purpose, will make things easier to navigate (Maybe consider dolphin forums too or something equilivent or a JS wiki for hosting your docs/firmware stuff? will make it so much easier to find/navigate

on a side question about how long do you guys think until the router is at a basic stable level (Net stays on, gig speeds work decently, router page doesn't crash or bug out, and no speed degrading over time) thats super important and should be priority over everything else... everything else is pointless (Functionwise) if the router can't stay online like normal routers. (i'd say its classified as a critical breaking bug, since the whole purpose of a router is to provide net and the proper speeds) Sure they are designed to do otherthings but the other things are pointless if it doesn't function at a basic level.

One last note, The most "Recent" Firmware we couldn't log into MMO's as Mentioned, The firmware Prior to that we could, and the beta we could, (our router was set up to a basic level to keep testing as clean as possible)

The speeds decreasing shouldn't itself cause many noticeable issues as long as Congestion Control/SmartBOOST is setup - how do you have these set? Could you provide some of the links that appear to be broken please? We have support.netduma.com which we've just recently upgraded that has documents and firmware on.

The next firmware or two should be much improved in all those regards.

Of course

https://support.netduma.com/support/solutions/articles/16000132677-dumaos-firmware-progress (links to 404 error) found at - https://forum.netduma.com/forum/106-latest-firmwares/

I didn't make a complete list of all the ones that link to basically nothing but just a example, (Just needs tidying and cleaning up to be better organized) - Sorry i'm a bit of OCD about this stuff and have a long history of running forums/wikis etc xD

Its all default, i don't have anything set up other then first set up, I wanted as clean as possiable, but right now on the beta it claims 600 limit throughput, but we're barely at 400, with noticeable internet issues, (mind you theirs 8 people with multiple devices, hench the 1gig line we have... so that could explain why we're seeing serious net performance decreasing is due to all the devices/active users, 600 we probably wouldn't be seeing any real issues but at around 400 we are, pages are slow to load, youtube is slow, gaming has slown down, but once again mock that up to us losing speeds in this beta firmware)

I'm glad to hear that cause thats super important I was getting worried I may had to ask to return the router to buy one that doens't have these out of box issues... just due to our living suitation, but if you don't think the updates wont be to long I'd rather hold onto the R3 cause I LOVE the features DUMA os gives, (being able to map out and name the devices is a huge thing)

Ah thanks, that's due to the recent wiki update, I'll correct them. You must be the only person who ever actually looks at that view of the forum other than me! Make sure to utilize Congestion Control/SmartBOOST, it's a good idea anyway to prevent issues in a house of multiple occupancy - 1 person downloading will cause issues for the rest, CC/SBOOST will prevent that happening.

LOL, Theirs other links that 404'd too, but hey if you guys need a volunteer or something let me know, been in the tech field for over 16+ years

I love this router and what your trying to do with it, we want to help you iron out the basic stabilities so anything we can do, even very spefic tweaking or messing around with that or that to 'cause issue here or there' let us know, I have a LOT of testing experience.

No need for a volunteer per se but we do try and give back as much as possible to those that help out! That's really great and refreshing to hear, I appreciate it!

on smart boost, it keeps saying 'gaming offline' and no matter what i do I can't seem to get it to go back online? I'm trying to get steam downloads speeds back to normal, any advice/thoughts? (I've tried removing it and readding it)
