Sunkin Posted June 5, 2024 Posted June 5, 2024 Hello everyone, First, I want to say that I am very happy with my Netduma R3. It works wonderfully, although I haven't been able to get IPv6 working, but that's another topic. Today, I would like to know if anyone has a recommendation for the "Steady Ping" option, particularly for the game Street Fighter 6 on PC. It seems that the game's netcode doesn't rely on a server connection during matches but rather on a P2P connection between the two players. Given that the ping can vary quite a bit between players and matches, I was wondering what the optimal setting would be according to you? Oh, and I want to mention that the ping in ms can range from 25ms to 80ms depending on the players I face. (my netduma r3 firwmwarev 4.0.219) Thank you in advance to those who can provide advice.
TrayDay Posted June 6, 2024 Posted June 6, 2024 I’m not entirely sure you can get steady ping to work for p2p games. I also don’t have SF6, yet, so I can’t say for sure steady ping works for it. But, I would suspect if you’re looking for a sweet spot for you gaming session. You could try 40-50ms using ping assist setting. As this should place you against players around 40ms to 50ms ping. See how you get on with that. Sunkin 1
DARKNESS Posted June 6, 2024 Posted June 6, 2024 The game uses the rollback netcode so adding latency isn’t going to make a difference it going to make your experience worst in fact. For some games it not needed it just dependent on how the netcode for the game works. Sunkin 1
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted June 6, 2024 Administrators Posted June 6, 2024 We're doing more work on IPv6 at the moment so it may be hit or miss currently. I haven't played the game personally but as the connection varies a lot using the expert mode when you know what the ping is may be beneficial. Sunkin 1

Alias 1aB Posted June 9, 2024 Posted June 9, 2024 Sunkin, just turn steady ping off. if you have a good stable internet connection, you dont need it. Sunkin 1
