DonNorto
Hello All, I purchased the Netduma R3 in December and to date have been unable to get the Netduma to connect to the internet. I have tried Exposed DMZ, Bridge Mode as well as turning off the firewall on the Gigabox to try and get it to connect the internet. I also tried PPPOE login settings I acquired from VOdafone and that did not work either. Whenever I try any of these, the Gigabox itself loses connection to the internet and am forced to disconnect the Netduma and reset the above settings to default. Would love to know if there is anyone out there that has experience with connecting the Netduma R3 to the internet through the Vodafone GIgabox. Thanks

Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted February 4 Administrators Share Posted February 4 Forget about DMZ, bridge mode etc for the moment, could you provide pictures of how you have the Gigabox and R3 connected to each other?
DonNorto
Hey Fraser, They are connected via LAN Ethernet cable to corresponding ports.

DARKNESS
@DonNorto To update Go to Settings >Troubleshooting>Upload Firmware https://forum.netduma.com/topic/53938-new-r3-firmware-4041 I would also recommend factory resetting by either doing the following options after you updated the R3. Option 1: Locate the Reset button on the back of your router. With the router powered on, use the pointed end of a paperclip or similar object to press and hold the Reset button for 30 seconds. Wait for the router to fully reset and power back on. Option 2: Go to Settings>Troubleshooting>Factory Reset
DARKNESS
@DonNortoActually I noticed you don't have it connected to the correct port on the R3 you need to have it connected to the blue port which is the wan
DonNorto
Thanks for the help @DARKNESS. I have successfully updated the Netduma to the latest version. I tried connecting the LAN cable from the Gigabox into the WAN port and that did not work. I stopped using Bridge mode on the Gigabox from advice from Darkness as apparently that breaks everything on the Gigabox which I too experienced as the internet would completely drop. I tried PPOE settings I acquired from Vodafone but that did not work either. I cannot do Exposed DMZ for some reason anymore as the Gigabox is not recognising the R3 being connected to either the LAN or WAN ports. I tried Exposed DMZ yesterday when the Gigabox was recognizing the R3 in the LAN port but that did not work either. I'm at a loss here 😂 @Netduma Fraser, any ideas? Fuzy
Hi ! The black and yellow cable must be put on the blue port (WAN) of the R3 and on the yellow port (LAN) of your ISP box... The white and yellow cable must be plugged into the yellow port of the R3 (LAN) and then connected to your PC. Once you've done that, go into your PC's browser and type 192.168.77.1 and do the initial configuration of the R3! I imagine that the black and blue cable goes to your Fiber modem (ONT)? If you want to get rid of the ISP box and have a PPPoE connection to the R3, this is the cable that must be plugged behind the blue port of the R3. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted February 4 Administrators Share Posted February 4 Just to be certain, do the above in terms of cabling, then reboot the giga, wait 2 minutes then reboot the R3, wait 4 minutes then check again please
DonNorto
Just tried that there with no luck
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted February 4 Administrators Share Posted February 4 On the WAN Settings page on the R3, does it give you an IP/say connected?
DonNorto
No, nothing. And does not give me a Public IP to use on Exposed DMZ
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted February 4 Administrators Share Posted February 4 It wouldn't be a public IP but a private IP. Could you swap the ethernet cable connected the R3 to the Giga please and see whether you then get internet after a reboot/if it shows an IP/connected
