Pukka
So i have a fairly decent 330/40mbps connection using G.Fast FTTC connectivity with EE. My Standard EE router appears to be having issues and I am wondering if a R3 would help fix it? I stream using Plex to family members. I have this limited to 24mpbs upload, leaving plenty of bandwidth for gaming. I mainly game on my PS5 (Call of duty) but I get stutters when plex is uploading. Plex seems to upload data in bursts where it will max the allowed 24mpbs for a second or two, when the uploads spikes and get stutters. Would an R3 allow me to better manage the traffic so that gaming? Thanks in advance for any help or advice.
TrayDay
Yes, the R3 have what is called SmartQOS. Along with it, you have "Priorities", where you can place them on a tier list from TOP Priority to Lowest Priority. You can set it up manually or you can select presets to how you like it. Just to give you an idea about the Presets. Here's how I have mine so you have an idea. You can also click on "Devices" next to the "Activities" and add the devices you want to have Priority. titofuenla
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 22 Administrators Share Posted January 22 Great advice above, there is also Congestion Control which on the whole will prevent devices saturating (using up) all your bandwidth and therefore preventing lag
