uniiiiiq
Hey Since it started using the R3 my internet download speed on the speed test reduced from 900-800 steady to 500. Why is that?
Zippy
Hello @uniiiiiq What do you have your CC set at atm? What speeds were detected when first setting up your router? What is the R3 WAN plugged into ? If need be take a screenshot of your CC settings and post here.. Should help to see whats going on and to help further assisting you. Also your initial speeds that were detected when first doing your setup with the R3 lets see what you had there.. Then we can go from there.. Thanks! Zippy. Zippy
No worries once you get the hang of NetdumaOS its like riding a bike.. There are a few videos of the R3 on YouTube.. Also look for LowPingKing on YouTube.. He has done a setup Video as well.. Some of those Videos should give you a better idea on how some of this works.. Check those out! I will share a screenshot of my Home page of the R3 once you log into your R3 you should see something very similar.. This Home page will at least tell me what your setup is thus far.. Also CC stands for Congestion Control.. Basically this tool is what throttles your speeds in order to maintain a smooth operating system.. In my screenshot you will see Network Speeds.. And Ping Optimizer.. That should give me a better idea what you have.. Take your time and check out those videos on YouTube.. And post back how things are going for you! We are here to help! Since your new to Netduma.. Welcome aboard! Thanks! Zippy.
osu2214
That's just as good as you'll get. My internet is the same way I get my normal speeds with other routers but not this one. Setup also gave me 900 down and 100 up but now it will give me around 100 up/down and spike randomly to

Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 1 Administrators Share Posted January 1 Where are you testing speeds on the router or speedtest.net for example? Are ALL devices connected to the R3? How is your ISP modem/router setup to pass through traffic to the R3?

Welcome aboard! Thanks! Zippy. Hey, Sorry for the late reply. Here is a picture of my CC, Once i have set the router for the first time i put 1000 downloads and 100 up and that's what i have For some reason, I'm not getting those speeds with the R3 That's how my internet is connected. Fiber Cable to The MC220L Gigabit Ethernet Media Converter And from there an internet cable to the router from the router an internet cable to my PC. No wifi. Here is a picture that will help you understand (sorry for the mess) The only -device connected beside my PC is a tp-link Deco. Please let me know how to fix my internet. Fuzy
It's strange, why do you have multimode SFP in the fiber/RJ45 converter when your ONT is single mode? https://www.amazon.fr/TP-Link-TL-SM321B-2-bidirectionnel-1000Base-BX-Interface/dp/B09D2C3C15/ref=sr_1_14?__mk_fr_FR=ÅMÅŽÕÑ&crid=2OET2WKTMV3HH&keywords=tp%2Blink%2Bsfp%2Bmonomode&qid=1704198566&sprefix=tp%2Blink%2Bsfp%2Bmonomode%2Caps%2C63&sr=8-14&th=1 In addition, you must be in PPPoE, which could explain lower speeds... Hey, So basically my speed can't be fixed with the R3?
Fuzy
It's possible by letting your ISP router manage the PPPoE and putting the R3 in DHCP in the DMZ of the ISP router. ONT/ISP Router/R3

If you are using PPPoE then that does explain the speeds, we're looking into seeing if we can increase that. Otherwise the alternative would be the above which would allow for the better speeds with the R3 not handling it.

ONT/ISP Router/R3 First of all thank you for helping. How can I do what you said that will help? I there a video you can link?
Fuzy
@uniiiiiq I wouldn't do it... But we can accompany. 1 - Did your ISP provide you with a router? If yes, connect it to your ONT (fiber output) 2 - Connect the R3 to your ISP router (LAN/WAN) 3 - On your ISP router define a "static/fixed" IP for the R3 then enter it in the DMZ of your ISP router. If you don't know, provide us with screenshots of your ISP router's administration pages, from there we can guide you.
