Hello

I have problem using ping assist as i did on R2. When i put my location in middle of ocean and my ping assist to 50ms to target servers with  <50ms ping, it dose not do anything, i got connected to random server and ping ingame is 80 even tho in dumaos it shows 30ms. Tryed multiple times, pretty much allways same result. Just cant get dumaos to filter out bad servers. Im on latest firmware 4.0.23. Pictures attached. Am i doing something wrong with settings?  Please help

I don't think ping assist works very well. It never worked reliably on the R1 either. I used it for a bit on the R3 yesterday and it did keep the server within my ping range (60MS) but I didn't enjoy the MW3 servers that I kept getting connected to. Just too many hops away I guess and my also ping went up during some of the matches.

Based on my observations over the last couple of days, you are better off setting a circle around the servers that you want to prioritize connecting to.

Hello, I still have the problem with the r3 Geofilter not working as it is supposed to, it leaves the marked area and starts looking for servers that have a very high ping of 150 ms. I think they should implement the geo they used in rl r2. In r2 I was getting a ping of 30 to 40 always in the call of duty game before I could connect to the Miami servers now it doesn't work I hope they can solve the problem the r3 has the potential to be a perfect router

The suggestions below should help if you are continuing to connect to servers outside of your radius.  I can't guarantee this will work 100% of the time though.

  • Disable GeoLatency
  • Disable PingAssist (set it to 0,0)
  • Enable Strict Mode
  • Disable Fast Search

Then restart the game or wait 10 minutes (in the lobby in the game), if that doesn't work, reboot PC/Console and check again.

Very sorry for the delayed response, if that happens the best thing is to just reply again and it'll show up again for me.

I have sent you a new firmware via PM to see if that helps at all

@Zagi87,

  Do you happen to have any servers blocked?  Also try it with Geo latency off to see if that helps if you havent tried that yet.

Thanks!

Zippy.

The in game ping being higher is normal, this is due to processing delay - all games have it but not all choose to include it in the ping calculation. There is no way around it and it isn't possible for us to calculate it. Up to 30ms additional ping in game is okay, anything higher than that and I would suggest you try getting another server as the server is under load. In the example you gave that server is under load and you should try another. Ping Assist got you a 30ms game so is working correctly there.

Please try the above, disabling those options essentially makes it exactly like the R2 Geo-Filter
