Allow & Deny

Recommended Posts

Hi All , I have many many hosts in allow & deny lots of little white dots in the red area and the green area . One thing I have noticed though is when I click a host in a new game I have never once found one that is in my allow area . Is there something I am missing or not understanding , surely I would have come across a host I have placed on the allow area at least once over time

Not necessarily.

Placing them in allow just means you can match with them even if they are outside your geo-filter radius at a given time. It doesn't increase your chances of matching them at all. So given the COD population it is possible you have not matched them in the 3-4 weeks you have had the Netduma

COD:AW does have dedicated servers. Doesn't mean they are up to much as a server but they are there.

i am constantly connecting to them i have read somewhere that since some time aw system is trying to place you on dedicate because people were complaining so much about the connection so instead off removing sbmm they force the games to run on deds with the deds though they locate them in areas and then connecting players for this areas really i haven't have a game with player host for a week now

Let's say that you have a friend on the East Coast and You are from the West Coast.

IF I add him to my allow/deny list and set my geo filter only to California?

Will he still pull host? I dont like playing on his host cause its so bad for me. BUT somehow he always pulls host every couple games and stays host as long as we stay in the lobby.

I want to be able to play with him but not on his host

(still waiting for my netduma) but just wanted to ask!

It is IP address I'm afraid, we are looking into some alternatives as well.

The reason people didn't see it in .6 is it was broken(bug) with strict mode on

So I'm clicking on a host to rate its ping but its not allowing me to update deny or allow 0-100
So does this mean I'm hosting if so I'm sucking as host during games hit marks are so delayed and everytime I'm in this circle which is becoming like every game right by my home symbol it's sucking and I move the home and Im still in that host circle even when it's outside my set range

You use the rating bar to set it to what you want and then click apply :) Please take a screen shot of your Geo-filter. You have to wait two minutes for the Geo-filter to clear before searching again, otherwise you will get into the same one. Then move your home so that its just inside the edge with the host outside.

Sorry for missing your post!

Add him to your allow list and then I would recommend putting the filter at some point between you so that you both get the best possible connection.

If you deny him it will block him completely.

We cant influence who the game chooses to become host, so cant help with that sorry!

Hope you get your R1 soon if not already :D

The issue is that I've waited the two mins I'll leave the game for few mins and try to rate this host but no matter what it's just shows ping and trace only and doesn't show the update tab I will screen shot it it's very annoying it's like the game is forcing me to play in a lobby I know I'll do bad in that's why my curiosity has led me to believe I'm in fact the host since I can't rate this circle it's the bigger one when I'm in a game so I assume this is the host

Not sure about posting here, because I use the Netduma for PC gaming versus consoles.
But I found it useful to put my normal "clan" players in the Allow side at 100% no matter where they are. My Geo Filter covers all of the US, some Canada and Mexico as well. So they are gonna get in regardless. But it helps me identify who they are and if they become hosts as their icon changes. It is easy to see the host and let a player(clan member) know that "hey, the problem is you" etc.. So I like it for that reason.  Is this ok to do?

Im going to quote Iain here as it describes what this is.

You are correct that is a dedicated server, unfortunately we will not let you block them as it could spoil your experience in the long term. You can place your filter in positions to avoid them though.
