I just reset my xr1000 because as usual it was acting up. I went through the whole set up process… as it checked for new firmware I get this message? “Please Connect Internet and retry”

There isn't a new firmware at the moment so the first part of that error is expected. Do you actually have an internet connection through the XR or is that message accurate? Can you progress through the rest of the setup wizard until you get to the DumaOS dashboard, then reboot the XR and see if you have connectivity after that?

I do have internet connection, I was just concerned what is this message about. However I noticed that after the reset I now have moderate nat type when I play cod mw19. I do have upnp on and still giving me moderate. I hear people on here say something about dmz but I have no clue what is that or  how to set that up. I play on PC .

Initially it probably just wasn't able to access the server that checks for the firmware. Copy the WAN IP shown on the XR System Information page, then access your ISP modem/router, find the DMZ option and paste that IP in. Restart your PC then check your NAT type.
