Prioritizing devices/games/services doesn't work

Whenever any device on my network is streaming shows or movies I lag a ton on my PS4 I have 100mbs up and about 6mbs up. I have traffic prioritization on for my PS4 for all ports and for the games I play (battlefield 2042) I even have 25% download for my PS4 and 28% for upload but I continue to lag until those devices aren't streaming anything. When the devices stream they use less than 5mbs download and less than 500kbs upload.

OK, for QoS to work properly you need to have all devices on the network connected to the R2, so it has full control over the network.

You could try lowering the Download slider in Congestion control down to about 70%, drop upload to 95%/

Then, disable all rules in Traffic Prio except the 'Games Console' rule.

Yeah I still lag even if its just a smartphone watching Youtube, since you said the devices have to be connected to the R2 to have full control that kind of renders QOS useless if they're not wired right?

No. What he's saying all devices must connect to r2 and ur r2 connects to ur hub only. That way the r2 can do the magic. If you have other devices connected to ur hub via ethernet or WiFi then the r2 can not take that into account.

I'm assuming by hub you mean modem and if that's the case yes it's only my R2 and modem. I'm assuming my upload speed is not fast enough but that's kind of the point of QOS to prioritize my PS4/gaming. Would sharing excess bandwidth perhaps be the issue or should I keep lowering congestion control limits to see if that works?

You need to put your modem into bridge mode (or DMZ the netduma device), everything else need to be connected to the R2, otherwise it will not help. Test your network over waveform or dslreport, and adjust congestion control accordingly (70% value for both download and upload, seem be working for most of the people, and you can adjust them later if not happy)

pretty simple

So all devices in your home are connected to the R2 specifically? Did you lower Congestion Control? That is the main feature to prevent lag. You're also prioritizing the console 3 times which could cause conflicts, either use the Games Console rule or DumaOS Classified Games and disable the rest.

Problem still persists after lowering congestion control to 30% for download, I lag when its just a smartphone watching Youtube. I also set that DMZ thing to my PS4s ip but not sure what it does. My PS4 is also the only one being prioritized on every port TCP & UDP, I also have geo filter set to the closest servers ( California ).

Can you disable DumaOS classified games as well as the one for Frostbite engine and test again?

Sorry for the late response but yes the packet counter goes up rapidly and I switched congestion control to auto enable

Unless you get a big reduction with qos enabled with your download and upload speed then is better to leave QOS set to always to avoid any kind of spikes

What do you mean by "My PS4 is also the only one being prioritized on every port TCP & UDP" exactly, how have you done that? Remove the console from the DMZ as that won't be helping.

When you prioritize a device you can select advanced and put the port range to 1-65535. Unless I got the wrong idea of what that does . . . Either way I've had the DumaOS classified games option enabled before and still lagged and I will disable the DMZ option as said

That's what I thought you meant, I wouldn't recommend doing that, if your console starts a background update that will also be prioritized and then cause you to lag. It would be best to either use the Games Console service or add the specific ports that the game uses.

So your line does have some jitter/spiking which isn't something we can resolve. Your upload is very high so experiment with the Upload percentage on Congestion Control while set to Always and get that down as close as possible to the download result.

Commenting in this post to avoid creating a new one but any clue when the next update will be available? Hoping something changes with it that can help with this.

Yes the problem still continues even after managing to get all the connection tests to A+ (they are even A+ while the TV is streaming) I still lag every time the TV is used for Netflix or any other streaming. It seems like the router is prioritizing the TV (Its not set to be prioritized in Traffic Prioritization) instead of my PS4 which is set to be prioritized.
