Doughboy Posted November 22, 2022 Author Posted November 22, 2022 When I saved this backup it was running fine. It wasn’t until my internet went out that it started acting up again.

They may not have been presenting themselves at the time but it could still have restored an error that could cause Ping Heatmap to fail over time or after a reboot. Perhaps try rebooting again and give it a couple of minutes, does it load properly after that?
Doughboy Posted November 25, 2022 Author Posted November 25, 2022 Also my router isn’t pinging anymore on the geofilter. Any reason?

Doughboy Posted November 25, 2022 Author Posted November 25, 2022 Yes they show but they don’t show ping numbers
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted November 25, 2022 Administrators Posted November 25, 2022 That can happen on occasion as some servers seem unable to be pinged, if you disable Auto Ping and ping manually does the ping appear?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted November 27, 2022 Administrators Posted November 27, 2022 Switch to a different game, are those able to be pinged?
Doughboy Posted December 19, 2022 Author Posted December 19, 2022 My router was not pinging then it stared back pinging now it’s not loading rapps properly so I had to factory reset it and then turn it off for awhile now my ping heatmap don’t work. Why do I have to do this every few weeks or so? Shouldn’t a router function unless u have a power outage or you personally make changes to the router? It’s like it does this or not functions on its own.
Doughboy Posted December 19, 2022 Author Posted December 19, 2022 Owning this xr 1000 has been so frustrating I don’t get it. I turn on my ps5 it don’t ping or rapps don’t work. For no reason at all. I reset everything it still don’t work. I play with it for hours to get it to go back to functioning like it’s supposed to from the start. I don’t know what to do anymore at this point.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted December 19, 2022 Administrators Posted December 19, 2022 Did you end up disabling Armor before? A new firmware version isn't far off but may be worth installing the firmware via TFTP, followed by a factory reset for the freshest install possible in case there are any issues in the boot process. https://kb.netgear.com/000059634/How-do-I-upload-firmware-to-my-NETGEAR-router-using-TFTP-from-the-Microsoft-Windows-Command-Prompt?article=000059634
Doughboy Posted January 5, 2023 Author Posted January 5, 2023 The armor was never enabled. I went into the app on my phone to disable it but it wasn’t enabled. My rapps still aren’t acting right still. Everything is spinning wheels at this point
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 5, 2023 Administrators Posted January 5, 2023 Have you done the reinstall via TFTP? That is the method most likely to resolve the issue as it provides the cleanest installation possible.
Doughboy Posted January 5, 2023 Author Posted January 5, 2023 No I’ve never done that. I don’t know how.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 5, 2023 Administrators Posted January 5, 2023 Follow the above guide, it gives you step by step instructions on how to do it
Doughboy Posted January 5, 2023 Author Posted January 5, 2023 I’ve tried it the command prompt won’t recognize the tftp as a internal or external command
Doughboy Posted January 5, 2023 Author Posted January 5, 2023 I also set my computer to tftp to make sure it works but I can’t tell if it downloaded or not. This is the command prompt I got
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 5, 2023 Administrators Posted January 5, 2023 Did you change the directory on command prompt to be the same as where you downloaded the firmware file to?
Doughboy Posted January 5, 2023 Author Posted January 5, 2023 The firmware file is in my downloads on windows. I extracted it there. Outside of that I don’t know what else to do. Is this how I’m supposed to type it out as well?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 5, 2023 Administrators Posted January 5, 2023 Follow the instructions precisely, put the firmware file on your Desktop then do step 5 d and carry on from there
Doughboy Posted January 5, 2023 Author Posted January 5, 2023 I followed the steps the light on the router doesn’t flash it stays orange till it’s up then it goes white. I put the file on my desktop and even changed my tftp settings in windows. I’m getting the same thing.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 5, 2023 Administrators Posted January 5, 2023 Provide a screenshot of your command prompt again please Doughboy 1
Doughboy Posted January 5, 2023 Author Posted January 5, 2023 This is really sad nobody should have to do this to make a router function properly.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 5, 2023 Administrators Posted January 5, 2023 You're missing the put in the command between the IP and firmware name. Double check all the instructions and then try again.
