Nuschler22
I only use the QoS for the Playstation, but I wanted to test to make sure it was working correctly. I selected my PC, used "always," and then did a buffer bloat test and found that my speed was the same as usual. Without being limited, buffer bloat was through the roof, and I wonder if that's what I'm getting on the PS as well. How do I test to make sure it's working? It would make sense that selecting always and my PC would make it work, but clearly it doesnt. Thanks for any help. Edit: I'm very confused. I set the QoS for the computer, and I get the following tests (These are all successive tests as I write this post done within a couple minutes without any alterations): speedtest.net : 25mb/3 (indicating QoS is working) fast.com: 20mb/3 (indicating QoS is working) waveform: 816mb/35 (indicating NOT WORKING) speedtest.net: 24mb/3 (indicating it's working) fast.com 920mb/36 (not working) waveform: 615/25 (not working
Bert
Do you have IPv6 enabled? A lot of these sites use IPv6 and I found on XR500 that speed is not restricted on IPv6. Might be the same issue with XR1000. N3CR0
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted September 18, 2022 Administrators Share Posted September 18, 2022 Could you expand on what you mean by 'set' QoS? There are 3 features on the page which could all affect the results you're seeing. Also if you only have one or two devices connected to the router with the rest connected to your ISP modem/router then it will not be as effective.
