fatal0Efx
I was having some internet/DNS issues (posted a separate thread about it) but while diagnosing I noticed something odd with the R2 with respect to the time. Under system, the uptime counter appears 5 hours ahead of my actual time, and the router time right below that is 1 hour ahead of actual time (4 hours behind uptime). It's like uptime is reporting GMT/UTC time and the other is accounting for daylight savings time, which shouldn't be active right now. In additions, if I go into Advanced DumaOS settings > Timezone, it shows the correct time, correct timezone (EST), and option to automatically adjust for DST,. What's going on here? Netduma Liam
Huh - that's strange. What firmware version are you currently running? Can you switch timezone, then go back to the correct one and see if that resolves the issue?
fatal0Efx
The latest: 3.0.394 Actually I can't even see the timezone now, thus can't change it either. I just notice my original screenshot shows the same thing but the first time I checked it, it was there!
fatal0Efx
OK so it appears once the TZ is set, it won't show TZ options again until I delete cached images and files in Chrome and then F5 the page. It bugs out everytime I set the TZ and save forcing me to repeat that cache deletion to be able to set it again. Anyway, changing Timezone to UTC (added a UTC clock on my PC to compare in single shot) and that seems to work, however changing back to EST the Router Time field breaks again. Looks like you have an issue with calculating daylight savings. BTW sorry these images are so big, they don't look that big on my local PC and I don't see a way to resize them in the post. fatal0Efx
So it definitely appears to be a DST problem. When I unchecked the "automatically adjust for dst" option, it will show the correct time when using EST. It's as if this option is doing the opposite of intended (on when unchecked, off when checked) or you're not using an updated DST database or something. Another question: Why is "Router Time" a different value from the time zone selection popup? I would expect they are pulling the time from the same place and using same code to display them both, however they are obviously different and moreso, the DST box has no bearing on what's displayed in that TZ popup. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted February 22, 2022 Administrators Share Posted February 22, 2022 So I tested this on a different version and it appears to be partially fixed apart from your last screen which I can still reproduce. I suspect this is because in the UK/US we start/end DST on different dates and it's likely using the UK version or it's getting confused somewhere. We'll take a look thanks! Realistically it shouldn't impact anything on the router though.
fatal0Efx
No problem. Just wanted to bring it up. Really concerned about the timezone selection issue though. Anyhow I have a workaround so I'm good for now. Thanks for your help. Netduma Liam and Netduma Fraser
