QOS Help! - Adequate distribution

Hey, guys! How are you doing?

I need some more help with my QoS. My PS5 is hooked to an R2 via cable. My internet is 400MB Download and 200MB upload. My Congestion Control is set to 40% on both parameters.
I use my Bandwith Allocation as shown on the image, with 50% reserved for the ps5. I also use the share donload and upload unchecked.
From my understanding, It should give me something around 80MB down and 40MB upload on it.

But, for some reason, when I test it there, it always gives me something around those results: almost 400MB download and between 5 and 10MB upload.

Do you guys know the reason?

Thank you!

Can you show the top of the page as well please, as well as open Bandwidth Allocation to show that Share excess is disabled. Did you set the allocation using the panel on the right or did you drag it using the main part of the feature?

Also gaming won't really use more than 1Mbps so you definitely don't need to be giving that much as it won't get used

Hey, thanks for the quick response! Here it is!

I did it changing the percentage on the right pannel.

That's good to know! Is it better maybe to reduce the main percentage of the Congestion Control instead? My initial thought was to "give room" for the data allocating more room for the ps5 and saving it. Mostly because Teh other stuf at home won't use much band either.

Thanks for that! Yes generally adjusting Congestion Control more will make a bigger difference to lag than Bandwidth Allocation - all Bandwidth Allocation does is allocate bandwidth, that in itself won't really help.

When you click save on the right panel also click Update Distribution on the main part. If that doesn't work then set it using the main part and then update and see if it works.

Are ALL devices connected to the R2?

All connected to the R2.

Are you using PPPoE, VLAN or DHCP identifiers to get a connection?

I don't know if my knowledge goes that far to answer this question, but I have the PS5 on a reserved IP on the DHCP menu. My WAN is on DHCP, like on the picture. No VALN or PPoE.

Did you by any chance put the console in the DMZ or make a Traffic Controller rule for it?

I did put on the DMZ! But I took it off to make a test and it still happens. And I have no Traffic Controller rules at all.

WOW! Nailed it! Thank you!

I'm still not getting full upload, but I really think this is a problem with the PS5 itself. Download matches perfectly.
So what shloul I do? Keep prioritatization without applying to WAN maybe? Is there a way to make it work with Allocation and Prioritization?

Great to hear that! So Traffic Prioritization supersedes Congestion Control/Bandwidth Allocation so if you've made a custom rule that includes the ports they use for the speed test (which it sounds like you may have done) then that is why it seemingly won't adhere to the percentage set. By default the console/game will be prioritized by DumaOS Classified Games so you could just enable that or add with the console service or add ports if you want but not using port 80/443. Then allocation will work as well!

I had the same issue when I have the traffic prioritization 1-65535. Once I have nothing in the T.P my qos was working on my ps5. Perhaps this is a flaw or something?

So when you had all port prioritised from the PS5, QoS didn't seem to be throttling anything on it? If so, that's expected behaviour, but perhaps we need to make it clearer to users in the interface what effect prioritising like this will have.

Okay I’ll try to give that a shot.
