Od1n
Hey guys, since a few days my R1 router interface has new features such as Heatmap and Adblocker. Since that has happened my Internet frequently dies. I can still reach the R1 via its browser interface when such a crash occurs but the Internet is gone for around a minute until it comes back. When this happens all ethernet devices are offline and sometimes also all Wifi devices. - 2 Logs attached to the post below which both include a crash and its recovery shortly afterwards - DumaOS 3.0.171 - Crashes happen randomly, somtimes 3 crashes within 10 minutes and then 1 crash every 3-4 hours The internet recovers after around 1 minute when the System Log shows this line: Mon Jan 24 05:16:52 2022 user.notice firewall: Reloading firewall due to ifupdate of wan6 () log-1642997840019.txt log-1642997354209.txt
Netduma Liam
Thanks for posting. There is a newer more stable version of 3.0 for the R1, you can download it from here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/8z4kcynmo3glplp/DumaOS-R1-3.0.207.sig?dl=0 After installing, please make sure you factory reset the R1, that's quite important as it's a big step up to 3.0 from previous firmware. Od1n
Hey, the firmware update sadly hasnt help, the internet just crashed once again. Same behavior as above, when the R1 log says " Reloading firewall due to ifupdate of wan6 ()" the internet is back again. Any idea of what i should do? Should i upload a new log file? Could you confirm you factory reset after the upgrade? If so, yes a log file would be helpful! Thanks.

Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 26, 2022 Administrators Share Posted January 26, 2022 Set the DHCP lease to 168 hours then set range to start at .50, then assign reserved IP addresses to devices between .2 & .49 so they're out of the DHCP range and apply. Then disable IPv6 in LAN/WAN, apply, reboot from the interface, wait 2 minutes and see if that stops the disconnects.
Od1n
All right i did all of that, except for the reserved IP adresses for devices in the range of 192.168.88.2 - 49. I checked my R1 Device Manager and none of my network devices is in that range. The R1 communicates to my Fritzbox which acts as a modem and its not within that subnet (192.168.178.1). So i guess i can skip that step? Everything else is done and i did a reboot, i'll let you know if i get more discconects!
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 26, 2022 Administrators Share Posted January 26, 2022 I would recommend setting the reserved addresses, you can give them different ones that is fine, once you've applied it then reboot the router from the interface, wait 2 minutes then the devices should reconnect and get the new IPs. Keep us posted!
Od1n
Ok but what exactly do you mean by that? " then assign reserved IP addresses to devices between .2 & .49 so they're out of the DHCP range and apply " I have no network device that uses an address in the .2 - .49 range so how can i reserve this address range? The only way i found in the R1 settings that allows me to reserve an IP address is below the R1 DHCP settings (picture above). I can assing an address to a MAC address in my network there. Or is there any other way to do it? Also i cannot access my R1 anymore through the browser interface, i always get this error now " Error: This Rapp is not loaded yet, please try again in a minute." You don't have to reserve it's current IP. Pick a new IP for each device, between .2 and .49. In the screenshot you sent earlier, tick the box 'Reserve IP' then pick a number to go on the end of 192.168.77.x
