yeastral
Hello, Just a few questions I want answered to clear up my confusion. 1. Does putting the R2 in the DMZ affect lag? 2. Is it better to have it in pppoe? 3. Do you need to change the PC to games console in device manager to use the games console setting in traffic prioritization. 4. Is it worth using apply to wan on traffic prioritization don't want it to have an opposite effect. Any answers would be greatly appreciated. Kind regards
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted December 5, 2021 Administrators Share Posted December 5, 2021 To answer your questions: Not particularly, could benefit from it slightly You only need PPPoE if your ISP requires it No Yes, it depends on your ISP as to whether it will benefit you but if they don't support it then it won't negatively affect you having it enabled
yeastral
Hello, thankyou for the quick reply. That clears up my confusion, must be placebo that DMZ could make my Internet worse had bad experience with it before but must just be in my head though. Should I reboot it after adding it to DMZ? Thanks in advance.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted December 5, 2021 Administrators Share Posted December 5, 2021 You don't need to reboot after adding a device to the DMZ but I would suggest rebooting the device you've put in the DMZ
yeastral
Hello, sorry to be annoying but should I add the MTU in WAN or does it automatically go to 1492 as I'm on PPPoE. And VLAN ID, mine is 101 I believe should I enter that. Thanks in advance.

The VLAN ID depends on if your ISP requires this, but yes if it's 101 then go ahead and enter that.
