Kg123
Hi guys I have been trying to open my ports on ps5 I have tried dmz port forwarding and upnp but every time I do a port checker the pots are closed I have virgin hub 3 in modem mode with xr300 plugged in any help would be appreciated
Netduma Liam
Virgin modem mode can be quite unstable/unreliable. My suggestion would be to take the VM out of modem mode and instead disable it's Wi-Fi, put the R2 in the VM DMZ and reserve the current IP for the R2 so it doesn't change in future. You may need to reboot the R2 after this, but otherwise just remove any existing port forwarding/dmz settings on the R2 and you're good to go. Kg123
So if I do that method I don’t need to port forward or dmz the console?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted October 27, 2021 Administrators Share Posted October 27, 2021 How are you checking the port checker? If you're using a PC it will show closed because the ports haven't been opened for the PC. Does the console say NAT Type 2 in Network Settings? If so then it is open. No you shouldn't need to as UPnP on the R2 will open the necessary ports when needed.

Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted October 27, 2021 Administrators Share Posted October 27, 2021 I don't think that is going to work for a local device IP but rather for the public IP. What does Network Settings on the console say?
Kg123
It doesn’t say anything about ports on the console I have set a startup up for console but keeps saying port closed when I check
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted October 27, 2021 Administrators Share Posted October 27, 2021 Network Settings on the console will say the NAT Type, if it is Type 2 then you have an Open NAT and it has access to all the ports it needs.
