MuFF Posted June 14, 2021 Posted June 14, 2021 Hello! Would it be possible, to reduce the Ping when playing on a foreign host? Im from Europe, when I’m playing vs. people from North America (on their host), I get a ping from like ~130ms what is normal. Same to them on my host. Could I use a North American VPN to get a lower ping on their host or reduce it maybe to ~60ms? Or any other way? I know that VPN is mainly to protect the IP but I wonder if that could work
N3CR0 Posted June 14, 2021 Posted June 14, 2021 Possibly. It depends what the routing is like from the ISP. If its bad then you may get a lower ping from a VPN.

Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted June 15, 2021 Administrators Posted June 15, 2021 In general, VPNs add latency, however in some cases like bad routing mentioned above it can actually lower it. However, in my experience generally routing around the EU/US is alright. A VPN can help routing mostly in Asia and South America from what I've seen.
