R2 is a paperweight now

Recommended Posts

So unknown cause, could have been a windows update overnight?

Woke up and it was dead. Neither wifi band works, port 4 ethernet stopped working, can get some work done on port 3 (haven't checked 1 and 2).

Power light steady, internet and port lights when hooked up constantly random flashing. Wifi lights both down. Can't connect to 192.168.77.1.

Left it unplugged for two days, still issues after residual power drained. Attempted factory resets, not getting anywhere with those either that I know of because I can't connect to it to find out.

Purchased Feb 2021, was sent out March 4.

Hi, sorry to hear you are having issues. When the power is on and connected press the pinhole reset button with a paperclip and keep it pressed for about 10 secods. This will factory reset the R2. You should be able to get it back up and running.

Hey, welcome to the forum!

Sorry to hear you're having this issue. A Windows update wouldn't affect it as it is completely separate. While connected to the router via ethernet open command prompt on your PC, type ipconfig and press enter, then post the results here please.

Set a static IP on the PC itself that is connected via ethernet to the router using this information and this guide (control panel) https://pureinfotech.com/set-static-ip-address-windows-10/
IP 192.168.77.100
Subnet 255.255.255.0
Gateway 192.168.77.1
DNS 192.168.77.1
then see if you can access the interface please.

Okay it might be acting like a switch then, I know you've done resets before but hold the reset button for 30 seconds, release, wait 2 minutes then try accessing using Microsoft Edge please

No change, if anything the blinking to recognize that there was internet and a computer hooked up to it became less consistent. Things, a doorstop. It's back in its packaging ready for an RMA repair/exchange or it's going in the trash.
