Kwee
I’m having issues with the connection benchmark. It keeps showing super low speed test then the next test will have higher speeds. The thing is when I test on Speedtest.net I always get around 900+ every time on upload/download. also should I be running QOS on or off with Gig speeds? I have flow control turned off when using QOS as people have told me to do this only when using QOS I have At&T Fiber, 1000 up and down. I’m using IP pass through mode: DHCPS dynamic and have WiFi and firewall, packet filters OFF on the BGW210-700 modem. I hope I’m not double nat because it did change my IP to 10.0.0.1 when I installed the router. Wish I could just use my own modem but that’s how these greedy internet providers roll. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted May 12, 2021 Administrators Share Posted May 12, 2021 I can't see most of your pictures but we're working on improving the reliability of the results shown by Connection Benchmark, they are much lower than they should be. Speedtest.net is reporting your speeds more accurately here so no need to worry.
Kwee
It’s just strange because for the past 5 months it’s been reporting the right speeds and now it’s showing super low speeds. Sorry about the pictures. They came out kinda fuzzy because of monitor
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted May 12, 2021 Administrators Share Posted May 12, 2021 Possible the server provider changed something on their end or the server usually used is down, either way if it was reporting well to start with that's great but certainly not what I would have expected as we are aware there needs to be improvements made
Kwee
These pictures look better? strange how when it reports low download and upload the under load test comes out with better results, is that normal or it's just because it's reporting my speeds wrong? Netduma Liam
What are you QoS settings? We could probably optimise those a little more while we're here.
Kwee
My QoS settings and most recent connection benchmark from today.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted May 13, 2021 Administrators Share Posted May 13, 2021 Yeah I think it's just to do with it not reporting correctly but it does seem to be reflecting changes so experiment with the percentages on Always and see whether you can get Ping Under Load to look more like the Ping Test results. Kwee
Seems like it runs better when I lower the congestion controls to 25% Download, Still getting random speeds but the other test look really good. Also, under bandwidth allocation should I raise my applications percentage for gaming or just raise my gaming computer under devices? Right now I just have my main computer at 30% and everything else is 8%
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted May 13, 2021 Administrators Share Posted May 13, 2021 That looks pretty good overall, you do have high bandwidth as well so you're unlikely to really saturate the connection anyway. I usually suggest leaving Bandwidth Allocation at the default settings as devices will take the bandwidth they need from devices that aren't using it and gaming doesn't require much bandwidth at all. Kwee
I had one more question, When I log into dumaOS on my web browser I can login with 2 different IP's 10.0.0.1 and the WAN IP Is this normal? I have my ISP modem in IP passthrough mode. Just making sure I don't have double NAT, also how could I check for double nat?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted May 14, 2021 Administrators Share Posted May 14, 2021 It sounds like you have enabled remote management in Settings on the XR which is why you can access it from your public IP as well. An Xbox for example would say you have a double NAT - if you have an open NAT then you don't have a double NAT.
