mike
a few months ago my nat changed to moderate for no reason after some messing about i put the r2 (dumaos) into my routers dmz and the nat reverted back to open again. now the nat has changed to moderate again , i havnt touched anything. its bad enough that the wifi keeps dropping out and the r2 needs to be rebooted every few days and every week or 2 needs to be unplugged for an hour or so , i now have to put up with it randomly changing things on its own ??. this is getting closer and closer to being put in the bin as it seems to have all the disadvantages of a custom built router and none of the advantages and none of the things you expect from a router ie a stable and constant connection that WORKS. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted April 21, 2021 Administrators Share Posted April 21, 2021 Sounds like the IP changed, double check it is the correct one shown in the System Information page. Did you set a static/reserved IP on the ISP router when you set the DMZ?
mike
DMZ Only one device, with either a static or a DHCP address, can be placed into the DMZ. The Hub will give it a private IP address and forward all appropriate traffic to this device. thats what it says , i didnt give anything to anything or assign anything to anything all there is on the dmz page is enable dmz y/n and the drop down box and apply/cancel. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted April 21, 2021 Administrators Share Posted April 21, 2021 So did the IP stay the same on System Information and on the router DMZ?
mike
on the dmz page it doesnt show the ip of anything connected in the dmz it only shows dumaos. but looking on the connected devices it shows dumaos as 192:168:1:72 and the ps5 (not connected as its off atm) as 192:168:1:
Netduma Liam
What's the exact make and model of your modem? Perhaps we can find some more information as to where we can look.

Netduma Liam
Is the PS5 turned on and online? Otherwise it will show as offline in Device Manager. Looking into your modem, I don't think they provide too much information about the DMZ server (in this case the R1), but given that it shows dumaos, I would suspect that's correct. Just out of interest, if you disable filtering mode in Geo-filter, does you NAT type change?
mike
turned off or on it doesnt show up on the device map as connected by wire im not sure about wireless , filtering mode is off and it makes no difference it still shows as moderate i looked into my modem and it says in a section to assign the ip addy i posted above to the ps5 and doing that made no difference its still moderate. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted April 22, 2021 Administrators Share Posted April 22, 2021 I can't find anything about the plusnet model you mentioned, is it not one of these 3? https://www.plus.net/help/broadband/router-user-guides/

Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted April 22, 2021 Administrators Share Posted April 22, 2021 Does the hub have any firewall rules enabled or UPnP? If so disable all those please. On the R2, disable WiFi, apply, reboot from the interface, wait 2 minutes, enable, apply, reboot from the interface, wait 2 minutes and the WiFi should be on and stay on more consistently. mike
unpnp is off Configuration Default: Allow all outgoing connections and block all unsolicited incoming traffic. Games and application sharing is allowed. Block all: Block all incoming and outgoing traffic. Rules set in 'Port Forwarding' and 'IPv6 Pinholes' will not have any effect. Disabled: Allows all traffic to pass through the Firewall. Note: you’ll still need to use the Port Forwarding feature to make sure that certain applications work properly. firewall was default and is now disabled , i added the rules above just for clarity on my router. where do you turn the wifi off on the r2 ? , iv given up looking where you have hidden this bit , oh fyi the device map would it be a bad thing if wifi connections were say a blue circle , wired connections yellow and devices not connected had a red boarder around them and connected a green one instead of the mass or even mess of red for everything ?. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted April 22, 2021 Administrators Share Posted April 22, 2021 Could you provide a screenshot of the entire hub interface as I can see if there is anything else that might affect. Thanks for the feedback, you can use the Device Manager in the table view if you prefer. WiFi is in Network Settings > LAN Panel > WiFi
mike
There's no option to turn off or disable wifi on that panel

Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted April 22, 2021 Administrators Share Posted April 22, 2021 You can see how to turn it off here: The router interface that the R2 is connected to. Just take a screenshot of the first screen after logging in and we can go from there
mike
sorry for the delay. i was resetting the wifi etc and then realised that now the wifi is off i cant connect to the r2 (doh) so i had to sort the cables out etc and in doing so the r2 decided that now it needs rebooting as it lost connection so i unplugged it over night and started again on friday it seems that doing this has returned my nat to open again !. what changed i have no idea.
