XR500 Router Cannot Game

Recommended Posts

Seen this post multiple times, but  I need help. I absolutely cannot play FPS games in any fashion: The second I peek something I get deleted, I will shoot someone standing still in Apex/Valorant/CSGO/COD and my TTK is insane but will die INSTANTLY when people shoot me. only for on the death cam my character is standing still for a full second not reacting.

ran dslreport. buffer bloat at A.

Uploaded ping plotter.

Keep my Dumas QOS settings 70/70.

Open NAT type. 1000MB/Down  50MB UP DOCSIS 3.1 Gigabit Modem

Using CAT7 Cables for Ethernet

Ethernet hardwired in for my PC.

I have no idea what else to do I have been unable to game for months. I get lasered the second i peek but cant hit a still target.

Any help would be invaluable.

What are you average pings as shown by the Geo-Filter and what do they show in game? Could you provide a clip of what you're seeing if possible from Apex for example?

What is your exact physical setup?

So my ping stays manageable. And I have high speed gigabit internet.

I have a CM1000 Netgear Modem that is directly wired in with Cat7 ethernet to my XR500 router.

The ping isn't over 100 and my gameplay isnt choppy. But when I run a screen capture and compare it to whats captured in game on the server side, it paints two different pictures

What is the ping specifically? High bandwidth doesn't necessarily translate to a good ping for gaming, someone with low bandwidth but a better ping could have a better game experience.

The kill cam isn't an accurate representation of what happened so shouldn't be used to diagnose connection issues specifically.

Currently in Apex when connecting to the Dallas Server i am at ~58ping

In csgo I can never find a server under 50 ping but I play with friends located in town with me on the same servers and they do not have the same issues.

Same ISP

When running speed test my speeds look good. Currently not displaying 1000mbps down since I have it turned down in DumaOS

Set the Geo-Filter to Spectating mode then boot up Apex, select the Dallas server, look on the Geo-Filter, is it connected to the server you expect there? What does the Geo-Filter ping say it is and is the 58 ping what Apex says?

I don't think the router is the problem, I think it is your ISP routing, these servers are relatively close to you, you shouldn't be getting pings like that, they should be much lower. If you connect direct to the modem, what ping do you get?
