Oren Tasuna Posted March 10, 2021 Posted March 10, 2021 Hi, Is there some way to monitor (preferably runtime) packet loss, and also other parameters like buffer bloat, latency spikes etc.?
Newfoundland Posted March 10, 2021 Posted March 10, 2021 PingPlotter is one way to watch what’s going on and there are various sites that offer tests but may not be 100% accurate. There are other software monitors available at a cost too. Are you suffering issues?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted March 10, 2021 Administrators Posted March 10, 2021 I would second PingPlotter, we have a guide on that which will help you here: http://support.netduma.com/en/support/solutions/articles/16000074717-how-to-test-your-internet-ping Feel free to post the results you get and under what conditions they were done and we can help decipher them.
Oren Tasuna Posted March 10, 2021 Author Posted March 10, 2021 Hi, thanks, I don't have a specific issue (that I know of yet), just wanted to know if I can do it at all. I'll give it a try and share if there is something suspicious, thanks.
Oren Tasuna Posted March 10, 2021 Author Posted March 10, 2021 Looked at PingPlotter, cool but not what I was aiming for. I want to see ping/packet loss information for my PS4 during games, to understand whether I have an issue that can cause slowness.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted March 10, 2021 Administrators Posted March 10, 2021 At the very least you would need a hub so that the PC and PS4 can be connected and the PC could see the traffic. From there, PingPlotter could still be a good shout, it will show packet loss if there is any
Oren Tasuna Posted March 10, 2021 Author Posted March 10, 2021 Not critical, just checked if such information is available through the router, thanks anyways
